Chapter 22

“It’s okay to not want to cuddle. Touch shouldn’t be forced. Ever.”

“Jesus, Jules. It was not what I meant. I meant you have so much to offer this world, but you lock yourself away in your apartment and—”

“I don’t want to date, Jenny. I’d rather be on my own than with some idiot, okay?”

Jenny stopped and gestured widely. “Not every man is an idiot. Not every man is out to hurt you.”

“Why don’t you date one if they’re so great?” Shouting in a parking lot? He must’ve lost his mind. He glanced around, noticed a man had stopped on the sidewalk across the street. “Shit, let’s go.”

Jenny laughed. “You know, they’re not all scumbags, and some are good in bed. Don’t you want to get laid?”

“It’s not a priority.” He hadn’t had sex in ages, and while he and Derek did have some good times, it hadn’t been as earth-shattering like in the books he read. He might want to get laid, but he wished he could do it without having to meet a stranger.
