Chapter 5

It’s a wonderful day, probably one of the last before winter arrives. The air is clear and so fresh, every breath feels like it’s detoxing my lungs, my entire body. Every exhale expels stress and the toxicity created at work. The foreman reached new levels of bastardness today, blowing up at one of the other guys at the site for not following his exact instructions even though they were wrong and could have been unsafe. He went all medieval tyrannical king on all of us, lecturing us in how we’re just to bow our heads at him, say “yessir,” and do as we’re told, or else…

I despise him more for every day that passes, and I’m not the only one. The building site was in an uproar when His Bastardness marched away after the little speech to his minions, and only our sense of duty to the client made us stay and continue doing our jobs.

I desperatelyneed to find something else to do as soon as we’re done with this house, or I’ll go insane.
