Chapter 12

“You’re s-so warm.” Luke pushed his ass against Kace’s groin, and he bit back a moan. By some miracle, his body was behaving—probably because of him hugging an ice cube.

“And you’re such an idiot. My tips were spectacularly crappy today. Any idea why? I didn’t, but everyone at work was having a laugh, and they told me to check my tips on the nights you were there. You scare off the patrons.”

Luke groaned. “Sorry.”

“Why do you growl and glare at my customers?”

It wasn’t possible, but Luke tried to burrow closer. “Why do you flirt with them?”

“It’s my job.”

“It’s y-your job to f-flirt?” The huff made Kace grin.

“No, but it’s my job to be polite.”

Silence stretched. If it hadn’t been for the tension in Luke’s muscles, Kace would’ve believed he was asleep.

“Have you ever s-slept with Angel?”

The question surprised a chuckle out of Kace. “No, and I never will.”

“B-Because you don’t like A-Angel?”

“I love Angel, but not that way.”
