Once the man had paid, Kace turned back to Luke. “So you’ve had male lovers?”

Luke rolled his eyes. “Yes.”

“Why have you never told me?”

Luke’s eyebrows shot up. “You never tell me about your hook-ups, and I never tell you about mine.”

Luke watched him for a long time. “That I wanted you? I was afraid it would ruin things.”

“That you’re bi!”

Luke frowned. “You’re the one who chose not to see it.”

“Then you should’ve spelled it out for me.” He thought back on their lives. Luke had flirted with men, but Kace had always figured it had been for fun, not because of any real attraction.

“What was his name…” Kace frowned. “The guy who often answered the phone when you lived in Mont.”

“Patrick.”

“Yeah, Patrick.” Kace nodded. Patrick had been a prick, always growling at him when he called, then sounding super sweet in the background when Luke had come to the phone.
