“That hasn’t been decided, but I’m thinking about it.”

“If you do,” Trev said, “and you want, I can do a few pieces for it.”

“I want. You sold well. Both of you did.”

Kevin grinned. “That sounds like we were up for auction. Sold, to the highest bidder…” He mimicked bringing down a gavel.

“Smart ass. You know what I was saying. Okay, back to why you’re here. I can’t write checks for you two, I’m afraid.”

“No problem, as far as I’m concerned,” Trev said, glancing in question at Kevin.

“I’m good. Rent isn’t due until the first of next month.”

“You’ll have your money by then, I promise,” Rory told him. “Now…” He sighed. “I have to go give a statement about what happened, which means I can’t open the gallery on schedule. Not a great way to stay in business.”

“I’m not doing anything right now,” Kevin said. “If you trust me not to run off with the profits, I can watch the place until you get back.”
