Chapter 37

“I think we’re okay,” said Sandro. “There’s almost no one out on the streets, just a few people walking their dogs. We are staying far away from them.”

“Yeah, but we don’t want to get arrested,” said Dominic.

“They won’t arrest us. The last thing they want is to lock up people in close quarters in the jails. They would just give us a warning. I’m sure I could talk our way out of it. Just leave that to me.”

“Yes, you can be quite the charmer,” chuckled Dominic.

Just at that moment, a car with the moniker Carabiniere pulled up.

“Okay, Mr. Charmer.” Dominic smiled. “It’s time to work your wonders.”

A rapid conversation ensued between Sandro and the police officer, the volume of the argument quickly rising with each exchange. The uniformed man began gesturing wildly, and Sandro nodded his head and immediately backed down. The officer got back in his car and drove away.
