Mom snickered. “You should stop waiting to talk about the kiss and just kiss. Honestly, I can’t stand the way young people are afraid to do things because they expect the other person to make the first move. Life was much simpler when your father and I started dating. Then again, that was when Queen Penny and King Dorian were alive…”

She had a point even if I didn’t want to admit it. Stefan and I avoiding each other was silly. There was no reason to feel awkward around each other. Sure. More kissing was the natural next step for us. It wasn’t like we could stay acquaintances forever.

Although I needed to make sure the Katherine situation was handled first. Putting up a lot of posters was what the monarchy always did when looking for fugitives. And if I saw a poster, then there was a good chance it would only be a matter of time before Taylor spotted one, too.

“What are you thinking about?” Mom asked.

“Taylor,” I blurted.
