Chapter 30

I waved my hand. “Hey, Stefan!”

He craned his neck. “I was wondering how long it would take for you to notice me.”

“You knew I was here?”

“Yup; I know everything.”

“Wow. You must be more perceptive than I realized.” I waded through the snow in my boots and joined him.

Stefan smirked. “What are you doing here? Don’t you have school? I thought I was never going to hear from you again.”

“Don’t be so dramatic,” I said.

The wind picked up, making snow fall from the trees. I shivered before rubbing my arms. Somehow, I had forgotten my jacket back in the basement.

Damn. So much for thinking I had everything together.

“I’m sorry I haven’t been by,” I said while my teeth continued chattering.
