“Color is back!” I screamed
“Not so loud!” Stefan rubbed his eyes. Then, he looked around the room and then back at me. “But, yeah, you’re right.”
“Did you break the curse?” I asked.
He shook his head. “No. I did nothing.”
“Yet somehow it broke.”
Red spread across his cheeks. “The explanation still makes sense even though it’ll sound corny.”
“I don’t understand,” I said, fidgeting with the sheets as I sat up against the headboard while pulling the comforter up to my chest.
“Last night was the best night of my life.”
I snorted. It was one thing to be happy or even ecstatic about last night, but there was something about the inflection in Stefan’s voice that caught my attention. Or I was too cynical.
“That’s a nice sentiment,” I said as I smiled at him.
He frowned. “I’m serious, Maximillian. I don’t know how to describe the moment.”
“Yeah. It was an amazing night. But what does that have to do with color returning?”
