Chapter 47

Cillian had mixed feelings about that. He didn’t know what awaited him back on Earth. Would they want him to return to the Monks’ prison? Or would he be able to live in his house again with Jack and Henri? Angel hadn’t said for certain which would be the case, though he seemed to think his intervention would help Cillian regain his life. With Angel dead, who would stand up for him? He was determined to continue making friends on the ship in the hope that they would go to bat for him when the time came, but the potential of losing his family again hung over him like the Sword of Damocles.

It was difficult not to let depression overtake him. The hallucinations didn’t help. After all, he could have them for the rest of his life. And they only seemed to get worse over time.

As they prepared to leave Iotan, a new problem emerged. Or rather, a curiosity.
