Her newfound independence gave Cillian and Jack extra time together. While the engineering department still needed Jack frequently, since faster than light travel did a number on the ship, and people still got sick, thus requiring Cillian’s help, they found plenty of moments to share. Hallucinations sometimes ruined the mood, but they didn’t always need to have sex. Talking and cuddling were almost as good, especially when Cillian needed Jack’s support.


Beyond that, the first few weeks were quiet. Routine. Uneventful and yet full of little events that made up his life. Henri’s stories. Jack’s touch. He tried to cherish every minute of it. Even doing his job or just going for a walk. The hallucinations made it difficult at times, but he tried to be patient.
