They didn’t stop to address him. They simply sprinted down the hall as fast as they could. Cillian pulled the doors closed manually and heard the locks slide into place. But as far as he could tell, the panes were made of glass. Perhaps ballistic glass, but glass nonetheless. If Whalen could get through Monk doors, why wouldn’t his twisted cousin be able to break through these?

As more soldiers fell, Cillian began backing away from the entrance. He told the person at the front desk to leave. She was preoccupied with the new people breaking protocol and had picked up the phone to tell her superiors about it. As far as he could see, she hadn’t noticed most of what occurred outside.

“Get the hell out of here! It’s coming!” he ordered.

That was enough. She got up, turned around, and headed down a different corridor.
