Chapter 85

Cillian ran as fast as he could toward what was once his friend. He made cuts along his arm as he did so. Not too deep. He wanted to survive this. Just enough to bleed.

Taking a cue from the Monk, he jumped onto Aavani. With the blade soaked in his blood, he plunged it into its abdomen. The three heads cried out at once. It dropped the dead Monk and moved to throw him, but he shoved his hand into one of the mouths and squeezed the main wound so that as much blood as possible would come out. The mouth turned gray and disintegrated around his wrist. In a rage, the monster took hold of him, whipped him around, and tossed him onto the trunk of a nearby car. He yelped when his back hit the edge of the vehicle.
