Chapter 9

“We don’t have a lot of choices on how to kill the time. I brought a few DVDs, but that’s about it.”

“I would suggest we just finish the wine, but I have a feeling you won’t be touching the stuff again any time soon.”

He winced and shook his head. “God, no. You’re welcome to it.”

“I’ll think I’ll abstain as well.” Jay stood and nodded at the tray. “I’ll give you some privacy so you can finish your breakfast and get dressed. If you need anything…well, you’re probably not going to shout.”

As grateful as he was for the reprieve, the notion of being alone didn’t fill Nick with joy. Especially if he was alone in a big bed all by himself.

“I’ll be down soon. I don’t suppose you like Westerns, do you?”

“I like them a lot. It’s been a long time since I actually had the chance to watch a DVD. At this point, I’d probably appreciate anything you had to offer.”
