Chapter 53

The only positive he could find was that maybe this would prove to Uncle Martin he hadn’t been the one responsible for the weird magic the night before. They all needed to be on the same side. Something dangerous was going on, all starting with Will’s sudden flight from his house in DC. If they wanted to beat it, they had to work together, not waste their time suspecting each other.

At the hospital, Rowan was out of the truck before it came to a complete stop, bolting for the emergency room doors without a word to either of them.

Will sighed. “You should go in there and be with him. Whatever happened, it’ll be bad. Marty wouldn’t have brought Graham here if he could help it.”

Alec started to scoot across the leather seat to get out curbside, only to stop when a sudden realization hit him. “You’re not going in.”

Will continued to stare out the windshield, his knuckles white on the wheel. “No.”
