Chapter 31

“Take Grace. Keep her safe. I’ll have a look around.”

“Oh, hell no! I’m coming with you.” Grace crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him. She reminded him of how she’d looked when they’d been kids.

“Okay. Ghurva guard the women.”

“No.” Ghurva grabbed Grace’s shoulders. “My order is to protect you.”

Carlo met Grace’s gaze, and she shrugged.

“Okay, come with us then. Do you have a gun?”

Carlo had fired a gun at a shooting range a few times, but he wasn’t in the habit of carrying one.

“There are guns in the cockpit.” Ghurva gave him a defeated look.

“Let’s move. Be careful.” Carlo crept along the wall of the corridor, listening for sounds out of place. When the ringing of the alarm was shut off, he stopped.

“Does it mean they’re in the cockpit?”

Ghurva nodded. “Most likely.”
