“I’m ready for you now, Eric,” she said.
“How did it go?”
“Let’s hold off on that until we’ve had our session,” she said.
“You’re the Doc,” he said.
“Exactly.”
In what seemed like no time, he was seated in a comfortable recliner beside the doctor’s desk and nodding off. When he woke up, his watch told him another ninety minutes had gone by. Carlton was seated in the other chair, and the doctor was speaking.
“In answer to your question, Carlton,” she said, “I’m going to reserve passing judgment on what we learned today until both you and Eric have had a chance to listen to the recordings of the sessions and make notes. We have another session scheduled for next month, and we’ll see how it goes from there.”
“Do you feel that we’re onto something?” Eric said.
