Chapter 18

“You saying?” Zeke asked.

Nate shrugged. “I just thought I should go home. Even if I’d stay with you, I need to pick up some clothes.”

Zeke sighed. “Maybe we should, though your parents might take me to the police for kidnapping you.”

“I won’t let them do that,” said Nate, his voice up, his face turning red as he swirled around and faced Zeke. “You saved me. They should understand that. I might have died if I’d stayed in that hospital longer.”

Zeke slowly got up and walked toward Nate, trapping him with both arms around him. Zeke nuzzled into Nate’s neck as Nate leaned back.

“I feel so relieved I got you back. I’ve been so worried for the past years since I heard nothing about you, though it was my fault too, never trying to find out about you.”

“I thought I’d lost you after you left. I felt so frustrated. You were all I had in my mind when I was in the hospital.”
