Chapter 20

As it happened, I didn’t initially make true on my word. Something—or, someone, I should say—was shortly to take up most of my time.12

Scott.

Yep, we’re back to Scott.

With me spending less time with Min, more of it went to the boys in my life. Boys being Jeremy and Scott. Yeah, my social circle was that small. Since Heather still had her claws firmly in Jeremy, and since—based on my theory—she satisfied some sort of mother-in-absentia need for him, he was only with us part time.

Which left me to hang out with Scott. All the time.

We shared two classes this term, neither of them with Min, thankfully. That would have been awkward. While I was giving Min the cold shoulder, Scott had no official reason to be shunning her, and seating arrangements would have led to drama that I didn’t want.
