“Anyway.” He worked hard not to give in to the blush wanting to break out. “We got up. He took Og out and started making coffee. I watched some TV, since the electricity had come back on, and then I asked him if he thought the roads had opened.”
“And he said?”
“I can’t really remember. All I know is that all of a sudden we were on the snowmobile, going to my car, and then he told me to take care and left.”
“Did he tell you he wanted you to leave?” Monica sipped on her coffee before she turned her work around and started to knit again.
“Erm…he said to drive carefully, and to never be careless, and that he’d saved my life once, and…” Aiden bit his lip and focused on knitting instead of talking. His voice sounded thick, and he didn’t want the ladies to think he was having a breakdown.
