Ch. 04 Meeting The Chief of Mind Arts

"Please come in".

I asked grandpa if she can read our minds and grandpa said "The whole ministry is protected from any sort of magic we can only use small magic in the ministry like levitation and sonorous and don't worry she is not going to read your mind"

Having heard that I calmed down a bit we entered her office it was a half-spherical in shape with lavender sky colour walls and russet colour drapes and an arch window behind her desk the desk was made out of walnut wood it was a standard looking desk for the time but yet it felt premium somehow, there were many antique collections of coins and locks that were hanging from the wall a huge bookshelf filled with books about mind arts in different languages there was also an apprenticeship under a prominent legilimency prof. Gandalf Jackson.

I looked at the room with amazement in my eyes the whole room gave an aura of subtle coldness to the person entering the room it was as if the whole room was saying the person in charge is the one behind the desk

Sitting on the desk was a woman who was in her early 40's and late 30's she had a honey colour skin fuzzy black hair that was tied in a low rolled bun she was wearing a beige colour saree with a light cream colour blouse she had a golden pendant with a jewel which was not solid but not a liquid either it was something like ether in Constitution but was black like that of the abyss she stood up to greet us and she was of average height about 5'8"."Atul how are you?"

Grandpa said, "I am fine Aamani meet my grandson Aditya" she looked at me with a peculiar look as if she knew something about me she offered us a seat and we got to talking.

"So Atul you want me to teach your grandson about occlumency and legilimency?" Aamani looked at my grandpa as if something was wrong with him but she said it in an indifferent tone "you know occlumency makes the exterior of a person cold and for me to teach such a young child would be an equivalent of stealing him of his childhood".

Grandpa replied, "I know it's not my decision it's his I asked him why he wants to learn about occlumency at such a young age".

I interjected, "I want to learn so that I can carry myself in a proper manner in society so that no one can manipulate me and take advantage of me and it is not just about protecting me it is also about the magic involved in occlumency seeing as to how obscure the subject is and is still being researched about and I think it can also help me in meditating to increase my magic flow better in my body". After my answer, both of them were stunned they couldn't believe that these were the words of an 8-year-old.

Aamani broke the silence and said, "I thought teaching would be a problem because most of the children your age are always unstable because of the constant change in their emotional state but it clearly seems you are different from most of the children in more ways than one".

When she said that I was getting more nervous because I choose to trust this stranger with my mind could have been detrimental but I don't have any choices either it's either my grandpa's friend or a stranger I can only hope for the best and prepare for the worst. In the best-case scenario, she doesn't expose me and I gain an ally, or I would have to run away from my home but.

She just gave me a reassuring smile and said: "It will be my pleasure teaching you, Mr. Chatterjee".

After 2 hours we left her office working out the details of when she would be teaching me and the frequency of lessons and topics covered and we also did a magical contract that requires the consent of both parties involved to read minds and also what can be read.

It was decided that she would start teaching me after the end of this month and would be teaching me for 2 days a week for 2 years. In this amount of time, I can make my occlumency strong enough so that old geezer can't read my mind I still don't know-how will be dumbledore in this world. With that, we left the ministry of magic and then we headed into the market because I asked grandpa to show me around seeing I had never gone out of the manor.

The streets were filled with people selling stuff I had never seen there were creatures I had never seen before there was a store that particularly attracted me it was a store with trunks and suitcases and bags my grandpa looked at me and said do you want to go in there I nodded we went inside.

The shop owner greeted us, my grandpa said "I would like to buy a suitcase for my grandson with 400 sq. ft size complete with different compartments with one room being a lab which should be fully furnished"

And I just looked at my gramps and said "don't you think it's a bit overkill?"

"Oh come on you will be using it for years to come think of it as a long-term investment". I also found out that the owner of the shop was American because America has made big strides in temporal and spatial manipulation that is why they were able to fit a house-sized space inside a suitcase.

We left the shop and we were going through different shops I also bought some books about healing and small hex codex and when we were passing through the pet shop in an alleyway I saw a ginger cat with blue eyes and had some sort of pattern on his head which not the only thing about this cat which was odd it was huge for its size I was curious by the cat while I was looking at him something happened.
