Fight for Freedom

Meir keeps quiet for a moment, eyes hardening against Drystan's stare.

His questions are rhetorical. Still, he is not sorry for what he has done.

Despite all the things that Drystan just said, Meir is willing to take the risk.

"Please, Uncle Drys..." he spoke up.

"If you'd only let me go out and enroll in a school again, I wouldn't have to run away. I'll do whatever extra lessons you want me to do, and I'll even study extra subjects with Ms. Giselle if you want me to stay ahead. I don't care what you ask me to do, I just... want to meet people - to feel like I actually exist. I did well in my lessons today. Just ask Ms. Giselle. I finished all my homework. I've been doing this for years, and I can handle more if you just give me the chance. I know I can do it, Uncle Drys... Please, just let me try."
