Beginning of a Long Evening

"Are you going out with Uncle Drys tonight, Cil?" Meir asked after seeing Drystan off together with Ercilia.

He'd already gone to work after another fun breakfast with them. Their morning was full of life as usual. It's been like that ever since she became part of their family.

Nodding in response, Ercilia smiles down at Meir.

"We'll be meeting his grandfather at seven. Will you be okay to have dinner on your own?"

"Don't worry about me. I'll just have Ms. Giselle and Sir Hermes eat with me."

"If you ever need me for something, just call, okay? I'll cancel the dinner right away."

Meir giggles, though Ercilia doesn't seem to be kidding around.

No matter how silly it sounds, though, he can't help but feel flattered. That's the first time he heard someone tell him that. Still, it's strange that she's this serious. It gives him the impression that she doesn't want to go after all.
