A Wandering Maiden's Dream

Ercilia took a moment to try to establish the fact that this was all but a dream.

She was running straight into the dense woods, heading west. Based on the thickening layer of forestry around her, she gathered she had surely run a mile, and eventually, the soles of her feet began to weep, mangled and bleeding. She was soon forced by the pain to forsake her adrenaline-filled haze, finally waking up to her surroundings.

Her feet screeched to an abrupt stop. These were not the woods she had entered.

'Where am I in the first place?'

The spruces and birch trees – a sight Ercilia was accustomed to had disappeared.
