The next day, after only four or five hours of sleep, Ercilia decided to devote all her attention to Ruxandra, who's been staying there for almost a month now.

It's a nice, warm day, the sky clear and the air refreshing. So, she thought of taking her aunt around the massive gardens. 

She's enraptured by the resplendent myriad of plants that are ornamenting the place, especially the rare and unusual ones. Ruxandra begged for permission to take cuttings when Drystan met her and Ercilia for a picnic lunch. He agreed without a second thought, saying that she could take as many as she wanted.

She spent the rest of the day in the gardens being followed around by Ercilia as she gathered her cuttings. Drystan found them again shortly after he got home from work and right before the sun went down. 

He gave a polite cough, and both of them emerged grubby and flushed from a bush.

"It can't be that late already, Chairman!" squeaked Ruxandra.
