Failed Parent?

Roth grabbed his forehead in shock, despair running within his veins now that he had learned what was to come for Samuel.

It was unbearably hard to digest for Roth. He couldn't even imagine how Samuel felt and how he kept a calm and composed figure throughout the conversation. It was agonizing to imagine the thoughts that were most probably devouring him right now, which he was hiding as always.

"W-." Roth tried uttering some words but failed miserably. He exhaled loudly, telling himself that he had to be the one who was supposed to stay strong in such situations. "We-" But his words were hard to be uttered as such holding a flower full of thorns.

"Sir." Samuel quietly addressed him as politely and formally as ever.

"Samuel, I-" Roth tried to speak, only to be interrupted by his son.

"It is okay," Samuel assured him. "Fret not."
