Mr. Alan had been reading the newspaper for quite a long time now, while Nancy had requested a small trip to the library. Nancy had been going over the bookshelves with Mr. Alan's eyes on both her and the newspaper. He was good at pretending that he was only focused on one thing at a time while he wasn't. 

Sometimes, Nancy wondered why she needed to have bodyguards in the first place. If the entire military and officials were involved, then wasn't it better to disclose everything publicly and get better protection? But then, the idea of Samuel turning into a vessel of experiments scared her. That's the only reason they had to hide Sebastian's immortality and crimes was because Samuel existed.
