Chapter 1: Nothing's ever as it seems

It's finally my senior year just gotta get through this year like I did before then I can finally travel far away from everyone and just sight see and sample all the world's delicacies.

Stepping into the school students were seen hugging their friends even tho I'm pretty sure they saw each other over the summer break. I mean we live in a small town it's not hard to find someone you know.

In every stereotypical high school you have the Jocks, Brandon and his stupid football buddies, the popular girls Lexi and he posy, and the list goes on for the very people I hate having to see.

It doesn't help that first period I have with all these people and many more. English Language was always a strong area for me along with other world languages but I hated the class cause they were there. I even chose advanced language hoping not to see them but it looks like they're not as dumb as they look. What a pain I just need to avoid them and their drama and I'm good.

"First off I would like to welcome you all to your senior year" Mr Richards said entering the room "you'll be put in groups of six for your exam and its worth 50 percent of your grade so better get comfortable with everyone in this class cause I'll be picking the groups" he said with a smirk and the I instantly got a bad feeling about this group project.

With a wonderful stroke of luck I get grouped with the last persons I wanna be grouped with. Lexi the schools mysterious beauty, she even have a fan club like the hell. Brandon the schools asshole ace football player. Allison another one of the schools beauty minus the mysterious part. She's friend smart and helpful but I don't buy it one bit. Jason no one knows him and he's always alone just like me. Ryder is basically the male version of Lexi cheerful friendly and an all round good guy but there are rumors about him. Some saying he killed his parents to some saying he was adopted by a cult. That's the unfortunate group I ended up so much for keeping a low profile. What a way to start the year.

The rest of the day went by relatively smoothly and no one said anything about the group project so I decided to go up to Lexi as she is leaving the school grounds with a few girls in tow. They look like a litter of lost puppies following around bacon... pathetic.

"hey uhh Lexi I was wondering if I could get your number to make a group chat for easy communication?" I asked taking my phone out

"why the hell would she do that?" a blonde haired girl with pink streaks in her hair said bluwing a bubble out of her gum.

"yea there's no way she's giving you her number sicko" the brunette standing to her left said laughing out loud like the filthy pig she was "just make sure she gets an A on that project" she said then turned around and basically dragged Lexi along with them.

"The little bitch I wasn't even talking to them but they actually have the nerve to say that to me and she just stood there!" I fumed kicking the trash can that was in the hall. Lexi seemed like the most approachable that wouldn't have a pack of rats surrounding her all the time she may be pretty and popular but strangely she isnt always swarmed with people.

I decided to plead to my teacher to change my group so that I wouldn't fail this project.

"please please please Mr Richards change my group pleasee!" I pleaded to him while he was packing up his bag to leave

"why do you want to change you group" he asked resting his bag down on his desk looking exhausted

"this is the most important grade in the entire school year I can't afford to work with insufferable people like them all day no one said anything about the project all day!" I argued "I tried approaching Lexi but her flock of brainless bats intervened and she did nothing but left with them" I finished

"Listen this is a group project u have to learn how to get along with them to get the work done sorry but I'm not changing the groups" he replied with a sigh. It was annoying why did I have to be grouped with them they don't care about school they just care about their stupid image. I stormed out the classroom and out the school building only to see Lexi leaning on my car looking up at the sky. Not gonna lie she was really pretty and I mean drop dead gorgeous with her auburn hair in a pony tail with a few loose strands on each side of her face and a jeans blue short shorts and plad black flannel with only the right side tucked in and a pair of black high heel boots. She was beautiful but I still did not like her.

"what do you want?" I asked opening the driver's side then looking up back at her

"listen I can't stay here long cause I gotta get home I just need your number" she said taking out her phone handing it to me. "I have everyone's number already just need yours" she continues

Wait she actually cared enough to get everyone's number? So why the hell didn't she say that earlier!!! "why didn't you say that earlier" I asked feeling a bit annoyed after putting in my phone number

"Does it really matter I got it now anyways" she replied clearly annoyed with me, well the feeling was mutual. "everyone said they had something they had to deal with and that we can start and then just fill them in so that we can meet the deadline" she stated looking me dead in the eye.

"So they ditched us great" I muttered under my breath. "so wanna go to a cafe or a library or something to start?" I asked sitting in my car to which she followed sitting in the passengers side.

"I clearly said that I have to go home so we're going to do it there" she stated taking out her phone and turning on her GPS before placing on the phone holder on my dashboard.

"Wait we're going to your house!?" I asked dumbfounded and blushing like crazy. I've read this in books and they always do the nasty when the girl invites the guy to go to her house....

"Get your mind out the gutter and just drive you perv!!" she said with a light blush on her face and my god I never thought she could be prettier but her blushing is something else. None the less I followed her orders and her GPS guided us to her house.
