Arranging a family gathering.

Lin Jingxuan had just told Lin Yaoha to come home for a meeting.

She sounded unwilling to listen or even talk but he didn't mind her. That was how she has always been.

As the current head of the Lin Family, he had the right to summon everybody for a meeting in case something didn't seem right.

He believed that if their family business had problems, the family would at least be okay. And that wasn't the case if they didn't live together.

Lin Jingxuan had found out about the problem Lin Qinqing caused as well as her arrest. That could have been the reason why they left.

Since his mother didn't care, it probably means she even had something to do with their departure.

Lin Jingxuan being a good man that he was, saw his sister's daughter as his own daughter too.

Lin Qinqing and Lin Yaoha didn't know that Qinqing wouldn't be where she was of it wasn't for her uncle.

Over the years, she had done so many bad things and had obviously accumulated several enemies of different categories, the rich, poor and even the dangerous.

Yet she could move about freely and continue doing whatever she wanted. If Lin Jingxuan had been alerted about what she did before at the restaurant, she might have not ended up going to the police station. He would find a way of even making sure her name wasn't ruined the more. Lin Jingxuan would also make sure he punished her accordingly afterwards.

But something didn't seem right, how did the two solve the problem on their own.

News about that incident were wiped out from the internet and the two women even had somewhere to stay. With their personality, if they were living a bad life, they would have come back home long ago. It didn't matter to them whether or not someone angered them but they couldn't survive living a bad life.

He just hoped Lin Yaoha and Qinqing hadn't done something unnecessary for money.

After their conversation, Lin Yaoha agreed to come two days from now and Lin Jingxuan was okay with that.

At the Lu Family home.

"Grandson, be free two days from now," Elder Lu told Lehan. They were both seated at the dinning table having breakfast.

"Is something going on?" Lehan asked.

"The old man from the Yi Family is organizing a gathering, my son in law is coming back," the elder replied.

Lu Kang was really happy that Yi Zhoujan survived. Before when his daughter found out that her husband was fighting for his life, she seemed like she'd breakdown.

As a father, he couldn't bear to see her in that state.

What annoyed him was that his son in law of his was a good person but he didn't put his family first.

He was also a former soldier and would definitely have done the same thing Yi Zhoujan did but as of now he favoured his child more. He was clearly partial.

He decided to stop thinking much about it and just let things be. It had already happened anyway.

"I will be there," Lehan replied.

Lu Kang was unsure about what to say because he didn't think Lehan would be interested in going. He was always reluctant when it came to going places to meet people.

Did he have a special reason for going?

"If you keep looking at me like that I won't go anymore," Lehan threatened.

"Okay, okay, just looking, don't tell me I can't look anymore," the old man replied while shrugging

Lehan simply ignored his Grandfather's excuse and continued eating.

The two continued with their breakfast afterwards.

At the hospital.

Yue Ling had just arrived and was ready to meet her incoming patient.

Her grandfather had called to inform both her and her mother to attend a family gathering in two days to celebrate the recovery of her uncle.

Yue Ling's job didn't give her any trouble and she was working well throughout these past few days. Nobody gave her a hard time at work and she was grateful.

As for her deal with Ming Lei, they had already communicated and he had agreed to follow her orders.

The problem would be that at the family gathering, he might be present and see her there.

Yue Ling's uncle may come with his family because the event was important and he had not even visited his brother while at the hospital.

Yue Ling was certain that she would still be able to solve the problem.

In the evening, Yue Ling left work after finishing all her work.

On her way back home she bought foodstuffs and other groceries to use at home.

Afterwards she texted her mother and told her not to buy things on her way back. Yue Ling preferred to do everything so that Yi Shuyan can have a rest too.

When she reached home, Yue Ling showered first before doing anything else so that she can relax her muscles a bit while soaking in the hot water.

Whenever she was all alone, she kept on getting certain thoughts. Like the things that happened in her past.

As she sat in the bathtub, Yue Ling looked at the mirror in front of her and watched her reflection.

She compared how she looked now to how she looked back then.

Her smooth skin was once scarred and bruised from beating.

Feng Laotian did whatever he wanted to her because he knew she wouldn't leave him.

The two of them shared a relationship that was worse than master and servant.

Yue Ling couldn't think of a good reason she had for staying with Feng Laotian before.

Love that wasn't for family now seemed bad to her. If you loved someone, they will take advantage of your emotions and hurt you.

After spending a long time in the bathroom, Yue Ling got out of the bathtub when her fingers were wrinkled and her body had turned cold just like the water.

She wore a t-shirt and shorts before going downstairs to make dinner.

Yue Ling was going to cook vegetable rice, stir fried beef and soup.

She didn't eat meat but knew how to cook it well.

As she cut the beef into pieces, she remembered the first time she cooked it.

It was because she wanted to make Feng Laotian's favorite food. Another painful memory about her past.

As someone who didn't like something, she felt reluctant before when she even smelled anything connected to meat.

She didn't know how to cook it because she didn't need to as she didn't eat it.

But because Feng Laotian liked it, she learned to cook it.

She thought she was training herself on how to be a good wife. Because Feng Laotian was her future husband.
