Don't Come Back

Amie spent the night in the hideout. The guards didn't leave until just after sunset, and by that time it was too late to try to find better shelter. If she tried to navigate the woods in the dark, she would have gotten lost and made the situation even more dire. It that wasn't bad enough Amie was also worried that all the running would have hurt the baby. She now had to stay in the dark with no food, no potable water, no nothing, and freezing.

The only thing Amie could think to do was to focus all of the healing mist on her baby. She had to occasionally switch focus to her whole body to counter the effects of hypothermia, but she couldn't sustain a prolonged full body heal. While a full body heal was unsustainable, keeping the little one inside safe was a more achievable goal.
