Coming Home

The first thing General Codrin asked was, "How is Andrei doing?"

The expression on Sorina's face quickly turned grim, "He's dead, sir. Half of the village is dead. That's why I'm here."

Horrified, General Codrin moved away from Sorina, "It's not some sort of new plague, is it?"

Sorina grew frustrated, "No. Please, read the letter Mircea wrote. It will explain the situation."

General Codrin took the letter from Sorina and sat at his desk to read it. A look of shock crossed his face as he asked, "Is this all true?"

Sorina nodded, "One of the cooks at the castle told us that Targoviste is the next target after our village has been cleaned out. Everyone there is a prisoner, we need help! My parents, my brother, Mircea, they're all still there just waiting to be-" She couldn't finish the sentence as she thought of her family.
