Chapter 54: It’s good to be back home

Before she could talk one of her father's men came forward.

" Your father needs to talk you.." He said.

Without a second thought Myra quickly grabbed the phone.

" Father.." She called out.

"Myra, how are you doing?" Raymond asked with panic.

Here is the revised version:

Myra hesitated for a moment before responding, "I'm doing okay, Father. Just a little shaken up from the whole ordeal."

Raymond's voice was reassuring. "I'm glad to hear that you're safe. I've been worried sick about you. But I have some good news. The Serbacian man who kidnapped you has been arrested along with his gang."

Myra felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was grateful that the man who had put her through so much was no longer a threat to her or anyone else.

Raymond continued, "I want you to come home and rest. You've been through a lot."

Myra agreed, feeling a sense of uncertainty about her future.

" Thank you Father.." She hung up the phone.

As Myra hung up the phone, she turned to Barbara, who was still waiting for her response.

But instead of answering Barbara's question, Myra said,

"I'm so tired, Barbara. I think I need to go rest for a while."

Barbara looked at her, concerned, and said, "Okay, Myra. Go rest. We can talk later."

Myra nodded, feeling grateful for her friend's understanding, and walked away, leaving Barbara.

As Barbara went back to Leo,

As Barbara watched Myra she couldn't help but think about the complicated dynamics between Myra, Leo, and herself.

She had always known that Leo didn't have a high opinion of Myra, and she had often fueled that perception by sharing stories that portrayed Myra in a negative light.

Barbara had always made Myra out to be selfish and arrogant, and Leo had seemed to accept that assessment without question.

But now, Barbara wasn't so sure. She had seen the way Leo and Myra had interacted on the island, and she had caught glimpses of a different side of Myra - a side that was vulnerable and kind.

Barbara wondered if Leo had finally seen that side of Myra too, and if his opinion of her had changed as a result.

Leo was surrounded by his friends Derrick, Eric, and Brian, who were all congratulating him on a job well done.

"Leo, you're a genius!" Derrick exclaimed. "I don't know how you came up with that plan, but it was pure brilliance."

Eric nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and it's not just the plan itself, it's the way you executed it. You kept a level head and stayed focused, even when things got intense."

Brian chimed in, "And you got the bad guy! That's what matters most. You should be proud of yourself, Leo."

Leo smiled humbly, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction.

"Thanks, guys," he said. "It was a team effort, though. We all worked together to make it happen."

But his friends wouldn't let him downplay his role.

"Yeah, but you were the one who came up with the plan and led the charge,"

Derrick said. "You deserve the credit." Eric added, "Besides, it's not every day you get to take down a Serbacian. That's a big deal, Leo." Brian grinned. "Yeah, you're a hero, man. A real hero."

Leo laughed, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his friends.

But as he basked in their praise, he couldn't help but think of Myra, and the complicated feelings he had developed for her during their Island and way she was angry with him.

—-

It was already dawn when they arrived on the mainland.

Myra quickly stepped out onto the dock feeling a sense of relief wash over her.

She had been cooped up on the island for what felt like an eternity, and the fresh air and familiar sights of the mainland were a welcome change.

As she looked around, her eyes landed on a familiar figure standing on the dock, waiting for her.

It was Mark, her former bodyguard, and a warm smile spread across her face as she rushed towards him.

"Mark!"

she exclaimed, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.

Mark chuckled and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

"It's good to see you, Myra," he said, his deep voice filled with warmth.

"I've missed you."

Myra pulled back and looked up at him, her eyes shining with happiness.

"I've missed you too, Mark," she said, her voice sincere.

"It's so good to be back on the mainland, and to see you again."

Mark smiled and nodded, his eyes scanning her face as if searching for any signs of distress.

"You look like you've been through a lot," he said, his voice gentle.

"Are you okay?"

Myra nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Mark. He had always been a constant presence in her life, a source of comfort and protection, and she was glad to have him back by her side.

"I'm fine, Mark,"

she said. "Just a little tired. But I'm glad to be home."

As Myra was catching up with Mark, Barbara approached her, looking a bit hesitant.

"Myra, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked, her voice uncertain. Myra turned to her, curious, and nodded. "What's up, Barbara?"

Barbara took a deep breath before speaking. "I was wondering if I could go with Leo. He's my boyfriend, and I haven't seen him in a while."

Myra's expression changed to one of surprise, but then she smiled and nodded.

"Of course, Barbara. You can go with Leo. I'm sure he'd love to have you by his side."

Barbara's face lit up with a smile, and she thanked Myra before turning to leave.

Myra watched her go, feeling a sense of relief that the tension between them seemed to have dissipated.

She turned back to Mark, who was waiting patiently for her.

"Shall we go?" he asked, offering his arm. Myra nodded, and together they walked away from the dock, leaving Barbara to join Leo.

As they walked, Myra felt a sense of comfort and security with Mark by her side.

She was glad to be back on the mainland, and she was grateful to have Mark to protect and care for her.

She smiled up at him, feeling a sense of gratitude and affection.

"Thanks for being here for me, Mark,"

she said, her voice sincere. Mark smiled back, his eyes warm with kindness.

"I'll always be here for you, Myra," he replied. "You're safe now."
