As Roland rolled to the cave's entrance, he could hear clashing sounds from inside. Also hear the people inside yelling something, which was strange, since he wasn't supposed to be able to talk. Peeking over the edge of a stalagmite, he could see what had caused the disturbance. The creatures and the three people were now fighting against each other. The one in the green coat [Aaron] brought out a spear, while the one with orange hair[Autumn] was fighting with a sword. The last one[Faloan] was weilding the same two swords he had on his back when Roland first saw them. The two ghostly creatures were ethereal, every swing of a blade or peirce of a spear going straight through the two but not damaging them.
Meanwhile, every time the weapons went though their bodies, the dark mist surrounding the two creatures clung onto the metal, slowly corroding it. Not only that, the two creatures were able to fight back as well. Roland saw a part of their bodies flying off, forming into a giant pair of claws. The three people were pushed back, avoiding the mist and the claw swipes coming their way. Eventually, an attack connected.
"Oof!" The person that wore the green coat was backhanded by a giant claw into the wall. Roland was a bit worried about that person that now had blood trickling from the side of his mouth. However, the other two were in more trouble. Now with only two people to fight against the beasts, the ones still standing were outmatched.
He could hear the two yelling something, but it was in a language he didn't understand. He decided he would buy a skill that would solve this problem later. As he thought this, a small gash was torn out of the arm of the orange haired one. He [Autumn] switched his sword to his other hand, and continued to fight.
Roland knew he had to find a solution. His spells wouldn't do any better than they could. Plus, he didn't want them to know he was there just yet. He sighed, before winding up a wind blade. The snow had seeped into the cave, so the ice blade would still work in here. Charging it to the limit, he split it into roughly 20 ice blades. That was his limit right now. Immediately, he shot the blades at the monsters, before starting to charge up a new one. As he did so, he watched the two creatures closely. He could see they barely made an effort to dodge, just moving occasionally. As he watched, he noticed something strange. Every time an attack was directed at the center of their bodies, they would dodge, but otherwise, they wouldn't move.
He then remembered something. Previously, he had seen a dark crystal in the bodies of those two creatures. Testing a theory he had just thought of, he threw all the wind blades that had finished forming and threw them one by one, at the center of their bodies.
He could see that the second his speed was going to hit them, they dodged every time. Knowing what to do, he slowly charged up another wind blade while looking for an opportunity.

Panting and sweating, Faloan backed off a bit, trying to conserve his energy. Looking down at the two, rusted blades in his hands, he sighed. The pristine surface of the blue steel blades he was proud of was now full of holes. The edges had parts that were chipped off, and the parts of the blade had changed color, to a dark purple.
He knew they had to retreat, but the constant assault of the two shadowy creatures didn't give them a chance to leave. Aaron was still slumped against the wall behind him, and they didn't have the time to get him out. They could just abandon him, but Faloan wouldn't do that. He and Aaron had merely intended to find shelter from the blizzard, yet they had gotten themselves involved in this mess.
Heading back into battle, he kept swinging his two swords at the two creatures. Slowly, something became apparent to him.
'The center of their bodies is their weak point.'
After fighting for a bit longer, he realized this. Inching his way towards Autumn as he fought, he finally made it to his side. After whispering his discovery to Autumn, they discussed a plan. Then, they went back to fighting.
"Whoosh!" Confusion swept over Faloan's face. Turing to see what had happened, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Roughly 20 blades made of what seemed to be ice were heading for the two creatures.
Of course, they just went through the creatures and melted when they landed on the ground. However, Faloan allowed himself a small smile. Someone had come to help. They weren't sure who it was, but they were definitely experienced. Only third circle mages could do combat magic. Combat magic was the term used for magic that was meant to deal damage, something like a fireball or the ice blade that Roland used. Faloan, Aaron, and Autumn were still second circle mages. They could only do chore magic, which was basically just doing chores, but with magic instead of manual labor.
However, when they became a third class mage, their mana would become purer and flow more smoothly, so they could do spells that were more complicated. If they were third class mages, they could buy spell books using contribution points that did much more damage. Although they had never seen a third class mage, they had heard of them before, so Faloan knew they would be safe.
The blades continued to fly through the air, and through the mist connected to the creature, he could see a small, dark gem, directly in the center of its body. He could tell that the mage also knew the weakness of the creature was there. He tried to locate the him, but since Faloan was in the midst of battle, he decided to look afterwards. The mage continued to send out countless blades of ice at one of the creatures. Faloan knew what he had to do, and charged at the creature of make an opportunity for the mage to strike the creature's core, the crystal.
Holding his sword over his head, Faloan took a giant swing that the creature's core. It made a small effort to dodge, before controlling one of the giant claws in the air to attack him. When it controlled the claw, Faloan could see it stop for a moment.
''Now!'' He and Roland thought at the same time, and Roland let the blades he had charge up go. Three were aimed towards the core, while the others surrounded it, so even if it moved, it would still get hit.
"Crack!" Two people and one rock, could see the crystal shatter, and the pieces fall to the ground. The wisps of corrosive air slowly floated out of the cave, and Autumn moved to avoid it. The crystal shards also dissolved in nothingness soon after. They focused their attention on the other creature, and soon, it suffered the same fate as its ally. This time, it gave out a barely audible groan before it died.
