Eventually, however, Roland deleted all the names from the map. He felt the places he had explored so far were too lame to deserve such amazing names, so he saved them for later and asked the system to come up with random names for the places on the map. For some strange reason, the system thanked him and hurriedly replaced all the names on the map with new ones. He didn't know what it was so anxious about.
Anyways, the exploration continued for a few more days before he finished. At least the places on the map were labeled. He felt weird whenever he saw a map that didn't show the names of places.
The names were much more normal and mundane this time, ranging from 'Evergreen Creek' to 'Rainbow Falls'. Roland felt the names were okay, but they weren't as good as the ones he had made.
Anyway, he was done with the quest now, so he went to claim the rewards.
[Quest Complete]
[Collecting Reward]
[Level Card (2x) Obtained]
[Class Card Obtained]
'More new things?' He was finding a lot of stuff recently.
'So how do I use these?' He asked the system.
[The level card is a one-time use item. It can increase your level or the level of a skill by 1]
[The class card allows gives you a random class]
'I understand what the level card does, but what is a class?'
[It's kind of like a profession. Once you obtain a class, it makes you better at doing things related to that class. A class about alchemy would make you better at making potions, a class related to blacksmithing would make you better at creating metal objects, etc.]
'Are there any other benefits?'
[All classes have a level, which increases as you do things related to that class. At certain levels, you get a skill related to the class. In this case, a class related to blacksmithing might give you a skill that increased your success rate when forging, or make you faster at forging a particular object.]
Roland tilted his non-existent head. This sounded pretty useful.
'What classes can I get from the class card?'
[Class chances:]

...
'Wow. That's a lot.'
[Just hurry up. It's a game of chance. looking at what you might get isn't going to make your chances of getting what you want higher]
'Fine, geez.' Roland brought the class card out of his storage space. The level cards were in there as well, but he ignored them for the moment. The class card was about the size of a playing card. It had an image on it that changed every second, and Roland assumed it represented what classes he could get. If he moved the card around with his skill [Basic Mind Magic], he could that it reflected the light.
Instinctively, he threw it into the air. It spun around, glowing brighter and brighter. Then, a golden mist started to come out of the card. All the mist headed towards Roland, traveling into his body. The card slowly disappeared, and the golden mist had all been absorbed into his body.
Roland felt amazing. It was as if he could shatter the sky with a single punch. Of course, he knew the feeling was just an illusion, not the mention he didn't have a fist in the first place.
Still, he must have gotten a pretty good class.
'Hey system, what class did I get?'
[See for yourself...]
Roland could tell it was holding back a laugh, but he didn't know what was so funny about it. Anyways, he opened the status screen.

'Chef!?! Are you kidding me!?!'
If Roland could, he would be coughing up blood right now. What was being a chef any good for?!
'Did you do this?!' he glared at the status screen.
[It's a game of chance, don't get so worked up over it]
Roland turned to glare at the screen that appeared in front of him. He would bet a thousand dollars that the system was the one that orchestrated this.
[Why won't you believe me!?]
'I just don't,' Roland replied, turning away. While the system was helpful some of the time, it had proven itself to be unreliable and seemed to enjoy his misfortune. If someone told him it wasn't the system's fault, he wouldn't believe them.
[Ahem. Did you forget that I could read your mind?]
'...no...'
[Are you sure about that?]
'Whatever.' Roland ignored the system and looked at the MiniMap. The system wanted to get him some kind of ally, so he might as well get that over with.
He didn't even want to acknowledge the fact that he got the chef class. What good was being a chef for!?! He didn't even need to eat anything!
Anyways, he first needed to find some monster eggs, and then he could give his SP to the system and it would do the rest.
While he was exploring the cavern, he found many monster dens scattered around the areas. He didn't venture deep inside them, he just left after he found one and saw it had eggs inside since he could always go back to it later.
Anyways, he had already marked areas on the map where the dens were. Although, he did feel a bit bad stealing someone's children from them. Oh well.
...
After a while, Roland made it to the first den on his list. He looked around.
Where he was, there was a large hill, which had a tree on the very top. The area around it was just a grassland, and a grove of trees lay a small distance away.
The entrance to the den was placed on the side of the hill. He rolled over to the cave and peeked inside.
Inside, there was only a long tunnel that went around a bend. He couldn't see where it led to.
He rolled inside, cautiously looking around. He wasn't sure if the parents were home.
He followed the tunnel, which he already knew led to the nest.
Not long later, the tunnel opened up into a cavern. It wasn't very large, just enough to hold the eggs and possibly the two parents.
Luckily, they weren't home, although it was unknown whether Roland was the lucky one or they were. If Roland had a higher level than they did, he probably would have fought them, but if they were a higher level than he was, he would be the one on the losing side.
Anyways, he rolled over the nest and the system scanned the eggs.
In the meantime, he looked at his status page again.
