Chapter three:
Ja-ni marched to the arena floor. Other students looked at her and chuckled. Looks like we got a practice dummy. One of them sneered, a Twi'lek boy. Ja-ni growled and scowled at the alien, then whispered. You're first, blue boy. Said Ja-ni. The alien chuckled and smirked. You'd be lucky to nic my lekku. Replied the Twi'lek boy. Zyn raised his hand and shot lightning into the air. Acolytes! You are here today for one purpose! You were all chosen by our powerful Darth Revan to become his apprentice, but he can only have one, which is one of you, if you survive the training process. Said Lord Zyn. Several acolytes chuckled darkly at this and looked at each other, they had the passion, but did they have the strength.
You may begin. Came the order. All the training saber's came on at once, and the acolytes charged at each other. Ja-ni and the Twi'lek boy dueled. The blades clashed, with a sharp zap and whizz with each connection between the blades. A parry here, riposte, or an overcut there. The Twi'lek boy growled and his double assault, Ja-ni blocked a fatal blow, barely. Ja-ni was slashed across her knee and arm, which increased her anger. The blades clashed once more and they locked, both pushing, trying to overpower each other. An acolyte fell by her and she used the Force to call the training saber over to her, and she used it to whack the acolyte over the head. She spun the blades in a blur of light and quickly overpowered the blue alien. The Twi'lek boy panicked and blocked as much as he could, then Ja-ni brought a strike down on his head again and clonked him. He stumbled back and dropped his blade as Ja-ni approached him, her blades at the ready.
C"mon bud, I was only kidding! The Twi'lek boy stammered out. I don't wanna die! Said the Twi'lek boy. Ja-ni kicked him in the ribs, making him kneel over and fall on his knees, holding his stomach. The alien looked up at the superior acolyte, his last sight a flurry of strikes coming down on him. Ja-ni breathed heavily, her adrenaline high slowly fading. Her senses peeked as she felt a blade coming down on her. She spun around and met the blade and stared into the eyes of her attacker, Savage Opress. Savage's bared teeth shone in the pale yellow light, and his yellow eyes shone like fire. Ja-ni could see why Savage Opress was feared, but she did not fear him. She pushed Savage Opress off and spun her blades and held them backwards, the blades behind her, and crouched down, ready to spring. The Zabrak growled, and the two circled each other, like beasts before a brawl. They were the only two left standing. Zyn folded his arms, watching the two battle for their fates.
The apprenticeship is mine! Savage Opress hissed, and charged at Ja-ni. She spun her blades and smashed it against the Zabrak's kneecap, shattering it, then on the back of his neck. He growled and used the connection to the Force to pursue Ja-ni. Savage Opress took a saberstaff from a fallen acolyte and tried to spear Ja-ni. She took the saberstaff and smacked the alien. He growled and charged at her, and was met with the saberstaff being rammed into his chest, the electricity stopping his heart for a second. Savage Opress fell to his knees, gasping and groaning from the wounds. Ja-ni began Force crushing him and crouched down, their faces inches apart.
I warned you, Savage Opress. She said calmly. This time, no one will save you. Said Ja-ni. Please. Savage Opress gagged, then his eyes went wide as his neck crunched, Ja-ni looked to see Zyn and Revan looking down at the arena.
She has a strong connection, my Lord. Stated Zyn. To be able to defeat two of our best students by herself, and to be able to wield Force crush, I think we found the strongest in the age group. Said Zyn. Revan nodded and replied.
Send her to the tombs. Said Darth Revan. Zyn looked at Darth Revan in disbelief. My Lord she is just a girl. He pleaded. She needs training! Revan gave him a look. If she is powerful as you say, she must face the beast in the tombs and retrieve a weapon if she is worthy. Said Darth Revan. Zyn sighed, it was useless to argue with Revan when his mind was set.
I will send her when she has recovered the session. Zyn replied. Revan nodded and left to prepare for his own travel.
