Chapter fifteen Gone

An hour and a half later Caleb was about to go find his dad when Ty began mumbling and trashing in his sleep. His protective instinct kicks in and he ran to his brother's side. "Hey little brother, hey, wake up." He said shaking Ty; my eyes flew open and I sat up gasping for breath.

"Hey, here drink this," Caleb said handing me a bottle of water which I began sipping slowly. "It wasn't a dream, was it?" I ask after a few seconds. "I'm sorry bro but no it wasn't," Caleb said rubbing my shoulder.

"So not only was she lying and cheating on me for over three years but she is also engaged to another man, what the hell is this woman thinking? I mean bloody hell man, I really thought I knew her; damn was I wrong, so wrong." I snort.

"And since that man also thinks he's the father of her child that also means she is having unprotected sex with more than one man and in your house of all places," Caleb said in disgust. "I still can't believe she is capable of something like this," I said shaking my head. "Thanks for your support bro," I said getting off the bed and stretching.

"I need to make a call," I said taking my cell from my shirt pocket. I put in my code and saw that Kayla had called me fifteen times in one hour and left a message every time; ignoring them all I dialed Miss. Alice's number. She answered on the second ring.

"Hello Mr. Tyler, how are you doing?" "Hi, Miss Alice I'm afraid I'm not very well right now." "Why, what's wrong?" She asks with concern. "I found out that Kayla has been cheating on me so I moved out of the house." 'Oh dear, I'm very sorry to hear that, wanty, wanty caaa get it and getty, getty no know wat the heck to do with it." Miss Alice quotes one of her Jamaican phrases.

"So how are you holding up?" She asks and I could hear the sympathy in her voice. "Well I think I'm still in shock, I don't think it has sunk in yet but the reason I'm calling is to ask if you were working with anyone other than me?" "No, you are or were the only one but don't worry about me at a time like this, I'll find something else but I'll always be available if you need me. So where are you now?" She asks in a warm comforting tone.

"I'll be staying at my parent's house but you don't have to look anything else because I'm going to need your help very soon." "But your parents already have a helper don't they?"

"Yes they do but I'm going to need your help for my own personal reasons, I'll explain everything soon okay just please wait for my call." "Okay I'll, now please take it easy, I'll be praying for you. And as for Kayla, it's her loss because she'll never find another man like you" "Thanks Miss Alice I'll call you soon."

Kayla rubbed her back as she entered the house, she was feeling hungry so she went to the kitchen and check the fridge, there was still a few slices of pizza that Jake had brought the night before, taking them out she heat them in the microwave and pouring herself a glass of juice she sat down and eat them.

After she had left Susan's house this morning she went and got her nails done then spend the rest of her day with Steven, the man was as boring as hell but at least he had money to make up for his shortcomings and in a few months, or a year she will be gaining millions after he passes away from an allergy attack from accidentally eating seafood; killing a man for his insurance money might sound harsh but her goal was to become as rich as possible and there wasn't anything she wasn't willing to do to accomplish that goal.

After she left Steven's apartment she had then gone to visit her friend Trish who owed her four thousand dollars; she needed that money because if Steven was right then that means Tyler had moved out and after what she did to him asking him for money now might not be such a good idea; she knew for a fact that she could get him back but it's going to take some time.

Sighing deeply she put the plate in the sink and washed her hands, she then went upstairs and went to take a shower. A few minutes later she came back out and began looking around the room.

Ty's closet was completely empty; his books were gone, not going to miss those. She thought. His photos were gone, everything on his dresser was gone. Damn, they really cleared out didn't they? Oh well, lot more space for me. She thought with a sigh. But know this, you may have moved him out of this house but I'll not allow you to remove him from my life, I'll get him back and no one is going to stop me.

After she finish getting dressed for bed she then went back downstairs and walk slowly through the rest of the house while sipping a bottle of water. They also took all his papers, his desktop computer, his filing cabinet, everything.

"Well, with that stupid job of yours you were hardly here anyway so it's not like anything is different!" She screamed angrily to the empty house while rapidly blinking back the tears that formed in her eyes and with an angry grunt she turn and stomped back up the stairs.

It's now seven pm and I had just finished feeding Faith when Fabian approached me with a bag. "Hey little bro; I bought you some stuff so you can freshen up." He said in a soft tone. "Thanks, bro," I said smiling at Faith through the glass.

"Beautiful isn't she?" Fabian said also smiling at Faith. "Absolutely adorable," I replied still smiling. "Good to see you smile." He said. "It feel good to smile, when I'm around her I feel calm and at peace, like an inner calm while a storm is raging outside," I said playing with her little fingers. "Ok, I'm going to freshen up now," I said grabbing the bag and leaving the room.

It was now four am Monday morning and I was sitting in Janice's room with her little daughter in my arms, Faith was in a much better condition than her mother who was still unconscious, she still needed medical attention but the doctor said that it was okay for her to be out of the incubator for a little while.

The doctor had given her a bath earlier and now she smelled of baby powder and come to think of it, my mom had also given Janice a sponge bath and she too smell of baby powder, now if she would just wake up.

I had just finished feeding Faith and was in the process of rocking her gently. I put my finger in her little hand and she wrapped her little fingers around it while looking intently up at me. I couldn't deny it; I was absolutely and totally in love with this sweet little angel.

"I know you must be wondering who I am, well, seeing as though I'm so in love with you, I'm going to call you muffin and you can call me uncle Tyler." I smiled. Even though I wish you were going to be calling me dad instead. I thought to myself sadly. This ache to be a father was becoming more than I could bear, maybe there was still hope, maybe the child that Kayla is carrying is mine, maybe, a very slim chance but a chance none the less. Faith squeezes my finger and I turn my attention back to her cute little face.

"You've only been in this world for two weeks and already you've been through so much, but don't worry little muffin your uncle Tyler is here for you," I whisper smiling down at her.

Just then Janice eyes flew open and she shot upright in bed then cried out as pain shot through her entire body. I placed Faith in her cot and rushed over to her. I had barely touched her when she began trashing around wildly. "Please Leon, please don't hurt me anymore, I'll do whatever you want just please don't hurt me anymore." She cried as she tried pushing me away.

The pain under her breasts was so intense she could hardly breathe but she had to keep fighting him, she just had to. She thought as she continues hitting and clawing him. "Hey, whoa, calm down, damn, you're like a cat with sharp claws, Janice, calm down please, it's me Tyler, I'm not going to hurt you." But she was crying so hard that I didn't think she heard me but I had to calm her down before she caused more harm to herself.

Placing my hands on both sides of her cheeks I forced her to look at me. "Janice, look at me, it's Tyler, you're safe no one is going to hurt you," I said in a soft comforting tone. "Tyler?" She asks softly. "Yes it's Tyler, We met Saturday night, and you helped me remember?" He asks wiping sweat from her forehead.

"Where am I?" Her voice was like a soft whisper. "You're at the hospital." "Hospital? No… no please no hospital…. no… he'll find me, please… I can't be here…I can't…Where is my daughter? Where's Faith?" She asks in a panic.

"She's right here, she's fine. Please try to relax, the more you move around the more pain you're going to feel." "Please don't let Leon find me…. He… can't find me. I can't be here." She whispers as she passed out in my arms again. "Don't worry, he won't find you, I promise," I whisper as I lay her gently against the pillow and pull the sheet up to her shoulders. I then began gently soothing her face and neck with a cool cloth.

The baby began crying so I went over to her and lift her gently in my arms. "Shhh it's okay muffin, mummy is okay, let's go sit beside her." I held Faith in my arms and leaned back against the pillow in the big padded chair that was in her room. As soon as the baby fell asleep again I placed her back in her cot and went back to sit in the chair and close my eyes.
