Chapter forty three that's a promise

"Come on Caleb that isn't going to solve anything," Fabian says in a tired tone. "She had better pray to whoever she pray to because I don't care if I spend the rest of my life in prison, there's no power on earth that's going to keep me from putting an end to her and that's not a threat, that's a promise." He sneered coldly.

"You may not care what happens to you but you had damn well better think of mom because you know how she gets when it comes to her children and with everything that is going on with Ty, how much more do you think she can handle?" Fabian asks walking away from him.

Martin swears under his breath as he storms towards Kayla who was sitting on a chair in the passage. "You're one evil little bitch you know that?" He asks. Kayla chuckles as she leans back in the chair and folds her arms over her stomach. "I was wondering when you were going to show up, I have already been threatened by every member of his family, I even got a few dirty looks from that ugly retard they have tagging behind them and now here you are." She sighs and sucks her teeth.

"What's wrong with you? How could you lie to us like that? We believed you, we stuck up for you, how could you do something like this?" He asks in disbelief. But Kayla didn't even flinch. "If you're looking for someone to be angry at Martin, I suggest you look in the mirror, why do you think I choose to tell you that abortion story?" She asks casually.

"I don't know, why?" Martin asks frustrated. "Because you are weak and out of the three of you, you were the only one dumb enough and envious enough to believe it." She snorts. "Jessica and Jason are way too smart and loyal to believe anything I say but you on the other hand were so jealous of Ty, not to mention how hot you were for me that you would believe anything I say." She said with a wicked smile.

"So what you're saying is that you used us?" Susan asks as she approached them. "Well yes, as a matter of fact, I did but I had my reasons; you see I realized that you were jealous of Ty from the moment I met the both of you in that club, it was written all over your face." She snorts and continues. "But when I choose him over you your jealously got even stronger, you did everything you possibly could to convince me that he was cheating on me so that I would leave him and come to you and when I didn't your attitude towards him got even worst." She said and smile with satisfaction as she saw the angry look Susan gave her husband.

"That was when I decided to separate the two of you for good but my plan hit a snag because you met my friend Susan a week later. I thought you would back off but you didn't; even after Susan got pregnant and the two of you got married you still kept coming onto me." She said sipping her milk. "You still kept trying to make me leave him, you were so jealous that he had me and you didn't that you were beginning to turn green with envy." She laughs as Susan got even angrier.

"I did have my doubts when I was coming to your house, I honestly didn't think you would believe me but you bought it hook, line and sinker; it was like killing two birds with one stone, getting rid of a child that wasn't his and a so-called friend he didn't need," She said in a nasty tone. "And you Susan, you're so gullible it's ridiculous, I've more common sense in my little finger than both your heads combine." She laughs.

"You spiteful little bitch." Susan barks slapping Kayla across her face. "I believed you, I even felt sorry for you…..I…." "Don't you dare stand there and judge me," Kayla sneered cutting Susan's sentence short while rubbing her cheek? "Instead you should be asking your husband why his tongue was down my throat two days after my abortion," Kayla said with a wicked smile as she sucks her teeth and walked away from them.

"Did you marry me because I was pregnant?" Susan asks with tears in her eyes. "Wait, what? Baby no, I married you because I fell in love with you, she only said that to hurt you, don't listen to her. You're the only woman I want, baby." He said hugging her. "Do you mean that?" "Yes, I do." He said softly in her ear.

Two hours later Jessica and Jason were still boiling with anger as they stood in the waiting room. "I knew it was a bad idea for him to go back to that nightmare," Jess said angrily. "I knew the witch was twisted but not that twisted," Fabian said shaking his head. "Taking the life of an innocent child isn't just twisted, it's just evil," Jason adds.

"Steven knew she was going to hurt him again but we really didn't expect it to be this bad, we tried so hard to keep him away from her but he was determined to give her another chance." Mrs. Mellissa said with tears in her eyes. "How could you believe something so horrible about my little brother? He has been carrying this weapon around for six years and he has never fired it once, came close a couple of times and if it was me …. Somebody would be dead, you best believe that." Caleb said angrily. "But how in the hell could the both of you believe that crap?" He demands.

"I'm ashamed but yes we did, I went with her, I saw how shaken up she was and at the time I really didn't think she was lying but then again it's Kayla so…." Susan said as her voice trails off.

"There was no way in hell, Jess and I would have ever believed any of that." Jason comments. "She knew that, and that's the reason she picked us," Susan said. "You guys are damn crazy," Fabian said looking at Martin and his wife. "I still can't believe you two would buy a ridiculous story like that," Anna said rolling her eyes.

"Could you all come with me please?" A nurse said from the doorway and they all piled out of the room as she led them to TY's room. "Mr. Jackson had a grim look on his face as he turns sad eyes towards them. "His condition has worsened drastically within the last half an hour." He said running his hands over his face. "Oh no, come….come on everyone, let's join hands and pray." Mrs. Mellissa suggests.

Miss. Alice enters the room and saw everyone standing around Ty's bed praying, without saying anything she join them. As words travel that Ty was in the hospital more and more of his family and friends and church members began showing up. After enduring as many nasty looks as she could stomach, Kayla decides to leave, so she called her friend Tina to come pick her up.

When she got home she noticed that her car was gone but she didn't think anything about it because Brandon was always driving it someplace or the other; he was very angry when she left earlier so maybe he went to vent his anger someplace, at least he wasn't taking it out on her, again thanks to the fact that she was pregnant; sighing heavily she entered the house, went to the kitchen, took out something to eat then went upstairs, she then went and took a shower, had her snack and went to bed.

Janice opened her eyes and stretched sleepily, for a moment she couldn't remember where she was, and then she realized that she was still in the hospital sitting beside Ty; she had rested her head on his bed last night and that was where she must have fallen asleep. Looking around the room she saw Mrs. Mellissa sitting on a chair in a corner.

"Are you alright?" Janice asks her softly. "Not really, the doctor just checked him; he's actually a lot worse than he was last night." She said with tears in her eyes. "He has to wake up Janice, he just has to." She sobs. Janice got up, walks over to her, and wrapped her arms around the woman's shoulder. "I believe he will Mrs. Mellissa; he will, he just needs some rest from all that he has been through, God is watching over him, we mustn't lose faith," Janice said in a comforting tone.

"I won't, I trust God a hundred percent, and he has always looked after my boy but what if this is it? What if God is ready for him now? What if he doesn't wake up?" She continues sobbing.

"No please don't do that, no more what-ifs, let's just leave everything to God okay, but I really don't think God is ready for him yet, he still has a lot to accomplish in his life before God takes him home," Janice reassures her. "You've no idea how many times I had to sit beside my son in a hospital room and wonder if he's going to recover or if his time has come." She said wiping her eyes as she continues.

"All I ever wanted was for him to be happy, for him to find love, to live a long full life." She said standing beside her son and massaging his hand. "I could be wrong but my heart is telling me that he's going to be okay," Janice said in a hopeful tone. "From your lips to God's ear my dear." "I'm going to call Miss Alice and check on Faith and then I'm going to get you something to eat," Janice said leaving the room.

Kayla had just finished her breakfast when there was a knock on her door, she sighs heavily as she walks towards it. She really didn't know what to expect at this moment, Brandon didn't come home last night, she had called him about four times since she woke up and his phone went to voicemail every time. She knew he was still angry with her but for crying out loud, couldn't he just answer his damn phone so she could explain.

She opens the door and was relieved to see Tina. "Hi Kay, I know you were too tired last night and you couldn't talk much but based on the little you said, what does that mean for you and the doctor?" Tina asks as she enters the house. "I mean his family is already all over you for cheating on him," Tina said throwing her bag on the sofa and heading to the kitchen.

"They're never going to let the two of you be together now." She snorts as she turns a bottle of juice up her head. "I'm not worried about his family, they have already done everything they can to keep us apart and they have failed but I am worried, what if he decides not to forgive me this time?" She said sitting at the counter.

"Oh please, I wouldn't worry about that, he forgave you before, he'll do it again. Mama's boy has found a good body woman, he will never leave you." Tina chuckled while eating a muffin. "I love him but he doesn't understand me, he and his family don't realize that everything I did was because I love him, these men don't mean anything to me, and they're just a means to an end." She said sipping her juice.

"The last thing you need is a means to an end, the doctor gives you everything you want, or so I thought." Tina laughs.

"True, but he's boring and he can't give me the edge I need but he's the man I love, he's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, why can't they understand that." She asks in frustration. "They will have to when he wakes up and take you back. He's going to need time to get over this though." Tina said helping herself to another muffin.

Kayla frowns when she saw Tina reach for the other muffin. She began wondering if the woman was there to check up on her or help herself to her kitchen but then again who cares, at least she had someone to talk to.

"I already plan on giving him four months." She said massaging her stomach. "Why so long?" Tina asks in surprise. "Well, he's going to need time to wake up from his coma, time to recover and come to terms with what he's feeling, and then time to forgive me." Kayla boasts.

"Okay, I guess that can work." "I may be a little worried but I know for a fact that the first person he's going to call for when he wakes up is me," Kayla said with a confident smile.
