Chapter 15: Ex

Karina's POV

A few weeks had passed, and it's been a few weeks that John and I are going out.

Today is Sunday, and I am here in my room.

I am getting bored.

I thought of going out to buy a new set of clothes.

I'm going to call John to accompany me.

"Hello, Karina? Why did you call?"

"Where are you?"

"I am at the internet café with Zane, Reese, and Ronan. Why?"

"I want you to accompany me to buy clothes. Where is the internet café located? I will go there instead,"

"Near the school,"

"Ok. I will go there now,"

"Be careful"

"I will"

I change my clothes and am ready to go.

For the past few weeks, I've known John.

John proved me wrong. He is not like my ex-boyfriend.

After 15 minutes, I arrived at the internet café.

When I entered, I was shocked to see my ex-boyfriend.

Is he a part-timer here?

"Karina?"

I ignored him and just walked inside.

Meet my ex, Andy. And I don't want to talk about us in the past because it is all in the past.

I looked where John is, and I saw him.

I went to them.

"John"

"Oh, Karina. Are we going now?"

"Yup"

"Ok. Guys, I will leave you,"

"Date?"

"Kind of"

"Have fun you two,"

"We will," John and I said.

When we are about to exit, I looked at Andy and he is also looking at me, so I looked away.

"Are you ok, Karina?"

"I am ok. Why did you ask?"

"You look kind of tensed and angry?"

"No. I'm ok. Nothing's wrong,"

"Ok"

When we arrived at the mall, John and I had a great time.

John helped me buy clothes. I was amazed because he has good taste when it comes to fashion. Can't deny it because he is good at dressing up.

John also buys clothes.

After buying clothes, we went to the arcade, had a snack at the café, and went home.

Now that's a date.

The next day when I arrive at the classroom, Thalia and Elkie is already there.

"Morning, Karina"

"Morning"

"I heard from Zane that you and John had a date yesterday,"

"Yes. I had a great time,"

"I'm so jealous," Elkie said.

"Go get yourself a boyfriend then,"

"It's not easy you know,"

"Guys. I have to tell you something,"

"What is it?"

"I saw my ex yesterday. He is working at the internet café near our school,"

"Maybe he is the new part-timer there because the owner said that he will hire a new worker,"

"I was tensed and angry seeing him again, and John noticed it, but I said that it's nothing,"

"You didn't tell John about your ex?"

"I told him, but not totally,"

"You need to tell John for him to be aware and to avoid misunderstandings,"

"Yeah"

Fast forward, and it is evening already.

Mom told me to go to the convenience store and buy what's written on the checklist.

When I exited the convenience store, I bump into someone, and it is Andy.

"I'm sor-Karina?"

I hurriedly walked away from him.

"Wait"

Andy grabbed my arm.

"What?"

"It's been a while,"

"Yeah. I will be going now,"

"Wait, Karina"

"What?"

"I'm sorry. I regretted what I did back then. I still love you, Karina. Will you give a chance?"

"Chance? Why would I give you a chance? If I will give you a chance, you will still make that same mistake again. You still love me? But I don't love you anymore, Andy. I was traumatized about what you did back then. I thought you wouldn't do that to me, but I was wrong,"

Andy grabbed both my arms, and it hurts because he is grabbing them so tightly.

"It hurts Andy,"

"Please, Karina. Give me another chance to show you that I regretted it so much,"

John's POV

I am going to Karina's house to give these rice cakes to her and her family.

When I was at the convenience store, I saw a girl and a guy.

The guy was grabbing the girl's arms.

Wait. Is that Karina?

I ran to them, and I punched the guy.

"What are you doing to my girlfriend? Wait. You are the new worker at the internet café,"

"John"

"So, he is your boyfriend. I'm glad that you found someone that I know is much better than me. Ok, I give up. I hope you will take care of Karina well,"

"Oh yeah, I will,"

"Great. I will leave now,"

The guy left.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was going to your house to give you these rice cakes. Mom bought a lot. Are you ok"?

"I'm ok. Don't worry,"

"Who is that guy?"

"Let's sit at the bench. I will explain to you,"

Karina and I sat at the bench.

"I told you about my ex. Am I right?"

"Yeah. So, he is your ex?"

"Yes. I was shocked when I saw him yesterday at the internet café. I felt tense and angry,"

"That explains your expression yesterday,"

"Yes. You and he are similar when courting me, that is why I didn't entertain you. I was afraid. Andy is so sweet and desperate courting me, but I didn't expect that he will cheat on me with another girl,"

"I will not promise that I will not do it, but you know that I will not do it,"

"I know John,"

"I love you, Karina,"

"I love you too, John,"

"Ok. Let me walk you home,"

"Ok"

I walked Karina home.

Upon arriving, Karina said to go inside first, but I insist because I am shy about meeting her parents.

"I told them about you and us already and want to meet you so bad. Don't worry, my parents don't bite,"

"Ok"

I went inside and greet Karina's parents.

Karina's parents told me that they like me for their daughter and I was happy when they said that they support our relationship.

They also told me to bring my parents next time. They want to meet them too.

After 30 minutes of talking, I told them that I am going home.

I am so happy.
