Chapter 473

Qin Feng stayed frozen in shock for a good few seconds, and just when he composed himself and was about to speak, he noticed something that Keith was wearing on his neck, and he froze again.

"Where did you get that?" He furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes, and his question made Roulan raise her brow and look at the pendant that Keith was wearing.

"It does not belong to you." The Child of Destiny grimly said, his mind already growing anxious with every second, and when Keith confusedly raised his brow at him, he felt more unwell in his heart.

"Are you talking about this pendant?" He asked. "It belongs to me, Mr. Qin."

"This is my friend's pendant." Qin Feng clenched his fist, and it did not go unnoticed by everyone present there.

"I am not your friend, Mr. Qin." Keith playful said, and Roulan did not even try to control the smile that crept on her face.

"Give it to me. I will return it to the one it belongs to." The Child of Destiny, who clearly looked unsettled, quite seriously spoke, and both Roulan and Keith narrowed their eyes at him.

The Princess of the Qin Family glanced at the pendant again, recognising it, since it was similar to the one that Feifei wore. And she knew exactly where the one Keith was wearing came from.

She also knew what this Pendant was since her father and told her about it.

"Behave yourself, Qin Feng. It's the wedding present that my father gave Lord Keith." She told him, and the Child of Destiny froze again, trying to make sense of what was happening.

"How..." He seemed to be in disbelief at her words, but then finally realised the gravity of the situation and decided not to speak again.

The next second, he was off, running deep inside the territory, right towards the Outer Court where he grew up with his friends, leaving behind an unsettled Protector Qin, who was in dilemma of what he should do.

Should he go after Qin Feng to capture him?

"He's much stronger than you." As if reading his thoughts, Roulan told the Protector, whose eyes widened in surprise but he still did not dare to raise his head to look at the Princess of their Sect. "Return to your post."

"Yes, Princess." The man said before he immediately excused himself, not forgetting to bow to Keith before leaving.

"Where do you think he's headed?"

Roulan looked at him and at him and then in the direction where Qin Feng had run.

"To see his friends?"

Keith smiled at her guess and nodded to her.

"Let's go see your father." He said and then grabbed her hand, teleporting away with her and leaving the guards perplexed at their sudden disappearance.

Keith and Roulan arrived in the north-most territory of the Western Valley, and here, only a single compound existed, with no sign of a person for hundreds of metres.

Qin Zhijian was in the courtyard, all alone, sitting next to a fire pit, upon which he was preparing his dinner. A smile crossed his face as soon as Keith and Roulan appeared next to him.

"The Law of Space? I must say that you are exceptionally talented, Lord Erebus."

"Darkness is beyond the scope of Time and Space, but both of them originate from it." He smiled as he created Wooden chairs on either side of Zhijian, and then took his seat on the right. "What tea is it?" He curiously looked at the glassed jar which contained a mix of strange pink and violet grains.

"Truthfully, I don't know." The man answered, causing both Roulan and Keith to inquisitively look at him. "Lady Wuji sent it to me when she asked me to gift you the Pendant."

"Oh," He nodded then immediately asked the System about the tea that the jar contained.

{It's the Profound Grade Heavenly Spring Tea. These seeds and petals are extracted from the Whistling Wild Flowers, which are found on the Stars in the Central Heaven and some Worlds in the Lower Heaven. Drinking the Heavenly Spring Tea purifies your Aura and cleanses your body, fixing all the ailments and tiredness that it might be suffering from. Additionally, it clears your mind for several hours and also permanently enhances your senses to varying degrees. The effect varies from race to race, and people in the Martial Realms can reap the most benefits} The System informed him, and he was quite surprised by how beneficial and valuable this tea was. {This tea will have no effect on you, Host. But you might like its taste.}

"I have noticed that you are no longer masking your Cultivation Realm." Zhijian suddenly said, and Keith smiled at his words, nodding his head.

Roulan, on the other hand, looked quite surprised and curiously looked at him, wanting to know how strong he was.

"Sometimes, you need to give some hope to the prey to encourage them to dig their own graves."

Both Zhijian and Roulan understood his words, and the Inheritor of Ren got up to prepare some tea for him and his daughter.

Even though Zhijian had tasted it and experienced its benefits, there was no hesitation in his heart when he decided to share this treasure with both of them. And even if they could be considered family now, his generosity was still quite a remarkable trait.

"What Realm are you in right now?" The Princess of Qin Family asked, hoping that he would tell her, but sighed in her heart when she saw his lips curve in a teasing smile. "Forget it." She shook her head.

"I am a Rank 1 Martial General."

"Oh..." She surprisedly looked at him but then frowned when she recalled what Realm Qin Feng was in right now. "He's a Rank 10 Martial General."

"No." He shook his head. "He's a Rank 1 Martial Master now."

Keith's words made her brows furrow deeper, and he found her expression very cute.

"Worried for me?"

"No." She shook her head. "I am curious how he has managed to advance so quickly in his Cultivation."

"I wonder how..." He chuckled but refused to tell her the secret behind Qin Feng's strength.

Seconds later, Zhijian returned to his seat and handed them their cups, and as soon as he started pouring the tea into them, an enchanting scent greeted their sense of smell, and it made Roulan feel dizzy.

However, she managed to grab hold of herself and took a sip, which immediately cleared up her mind but pulled her into a new series of sensations.

Zhijian laughed when he saw his daughter wearing a dumb expression as her mind drifted off to an Enlightened State, and then curiously smiled when he saw Keith take a sip and just nod his head.

"It tastes delicious."

"The best-tasting tea I have ever had." The Inheritors of Ren happily said and then proceeded to take a sip as well, keeping his curiosity in his heart as to why the Inheritor of Erebus did not seem enthralled by its effects.

Keith did not disturb the pair of father and daughter as they completely immersed themselves in their tea session, and he put his focus on the Child of Destiny, who was searching for his friend like a headless chicken.

Qin Feng had caused a major uproar in the entire Sect by the time he finally found his friend, who, to his dismay, was completely fine and happily living in the Inner Court with his wife.

The conversation Qin Feng had with Qin Zhibo was funny enough to make him chuckle, and he thoroughly enjoyed the Child of Destiny's turmoil as he debated what he should do next when Qin Zhibo told him it was not his business to decide what he should have done with his Family's Heirloom.

Minutes later, he sensed the Child of Destiny approach the compound of the Ancestor, and by this time, both Zhijian and Roulan had finished their tea.

"What brings you here, Child?" The Inheritor of Ren indifferently asked, and the Child of Destiny, who heard his voice, stopped in front of the compound and lowered his head.

"Sorry for intruding, Great Ancestor. But I would like to have a word with you." He said.

"I am busy tonight. You can come in the morning."

"It's urgent, Great Ancestor." Qin Feng seriously said, and Zhijian narrowed his eyes at those words.

"Is it about Erebus?"

"Yes."

Zhijian audibly sighed, which was clearly heard by Qin Feng, making him frown.

"Talented as you might be, your greed for more will be your doom." He said.

"The Dao of Heavens are only for those who yearn for more." The Child of Destiny proudly said.

"Perhaps. But what good would it do to you if you set your eyes on things that belong to someone you must not offend?" Zhijian disappointedly said. "It's important that one remains mindful of their place in the Hierarchy even as they strive to become better and more. Go back and reflect on what I have just said to you."

There was silence after his words, and Zhijian's brows furrowed when he sensed Qin Feng staying in his place, refusing to move.

However, he did not bother saying any more words to the Lord of Purgatory Island.

"I ask for your daughter's hand in marriage, Lord Ren."

There was a change in his tone and address, and Roulan did not appreciate his words in the least.

She looked quite upset, but Qin Zhijian just smiled at what he had just heard.

"I refuse." He clearly said. "You are not worthy."

"I am worthy!" The Child of Destiny proclaimed.

"No." The Inheritor of Ren slowly stood up, and a terrifying pressure suddenly erupted from him, which made Roulan go pale in fear.

Outside, Qin Feng, who had just uttered those proud words, immediately fell to his knees, despite being unwilling. He tried to counter the pressure with his own God's Domain, only to end up throwing a mouthful of blood when his defence was utterly obliterated.

Then again, Qin Feng was not someone normal, and against all odds, he managed to stand back up on his feet, bleeding from his eyes and ears and yet proudly standing tall.

Qin Zhijian smiled when he arrived outside and saw the state of the Lord of Purgatory Island. And he could see the hint of hatred that those dark eyes now held for him.

"I am worthy." He whispered, and Qin Zhijian disappointedly shook his head.

"No, you are not worthy when you stand against him," The Inheritor of Ren replied, shaking his head. "The only thing you have over him is the advantage of your Cultivation Realm, which is an entire Realm higher. But even then, it would not be enough to save you if you kept seeking your death." He said and then wafted his hand, creating a shockwave that hit Qin Feng and sent him flying out of the territory, throwing him somewhere in the Outer Court.
