I slowly got used to going to school over the course of a few weeks. It seemed as if everything was going so great. Alexander and I were growing closer by the day as were Clair and I. The group stopped obsessing over me and started acting normally...by their standards. Clair's notes helped me out so much that I was getting A's and B's on every assignment i've done so far. She and I would hang out in the library everyday during lunch to read manga and laugh about the most idiotic things we could think of. One day I just happened to invite her over to hang out.
"Really? Ok, if you insist." she seemed so happy to accept my invitation. It was so adorable. It was like watching a baby meet a puppy for the first time. She called her mom to get permission. Honestly, at the moment I wasn't thinking about what my dad would think of me bringing home a girl, but I should have been. Later that day after school was over the two of us caught up to Alexander and the group on their way out of the main gate.
"Hey, Alexander!?" I frantically waved my hand like a crazy person. Clair laughed at me as I tried my best to get his attention. She ended up grabbing my hand and running towards him, while dragging me along. Once we were with the group I pulled my hand away and took a breather.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine." I couldn't help but look up at her with annoyance evident in my face. She just smiled and turned to greet the group. Sarah and Kylie gave her a distasteful look while everyone else seemed fine with her. Once I finally caught my breath I joined them.
"Alexander, I was trying to tell you that Clair is coming over today. We made plans to hang out today so she'll be riding with us." he looked over at Clair before giving me a thumbs up. From the corner of my eye I could see Sarah whisper something to Kylie and then they began to snicker amongst themselves.
"What's so funny girls? Care to share?" the two of them looked at one another and then back at me. Kylie shook her head 'no' and then looked down at the ground. Sarah looked at her annoyed that she backed down.
"I said that you shouldn't hang out with that skank. She thinks she knows everything, but I know something she doesn't. Her mommy's going to go bankrupt soon if she doesn't hit it big academically." I looked over at Clair who looked completely shocked. Within seconds that shock became anger. She lunged forward and grabbed Sarah's collar. Sarah smirked thinking she'd won. Clair's a nice girl, even when angry I don't think she'd hit someone. Clair balled her fist and punched Sarah right in the nose. I was wrong. She would hit someone. Alexander grabbed Clair and held her back while Kylie and I helped Sarah. Her nose was bleeding and there was already a huge bruise forming over her nose. I grabbed one of her arms while Kylie grabbed the other and together we pulled her up. Once she was on her feet she pointed at Clair and started screaming at her.
"You fucking psycho. How dare you...do you know who my father is!?" Clair started to wiggle in Alexander's arms, trying to break free.
"No, I don't know, but i'm assuming that he's just as much of a bitch as you are!" I couldn't help laughing. Sarah pulled away from me and gave me a death glare, but I still laughed.
"You think this is funny!? You and this bitch are both sellouts! We are no longer friends and I never want to see you again!" I shrugged my shoulders and just walked past her. I never really liked her, so leaving her behind wasn't hard in the slightest. Alexander pulled Clair towards the gate where Marcus was waiting for us. He didn't pay Sarah any mind as she yelled at us from a far. I guess she's angry that she got her ass beat by a sellout. I slid into the limo and ignored Clair as she screamed back at Sarah. Alexander pushed her into the limo and then climbed in after her. Marcus signaled the driver to pull off. Even while we were driving off, Clair decided to stick her head out of the window so she could continue to yell at Sarah. I couldn't help but laugh at her persistence.
"Dude, calm down. She can't even hear you anymore." she shrugged and leaned back in her seat. Marcus tapped me on the shoulder and then nodded towards Clair. I guess he wants me to formally introduce them. "Hey Clair, as you most likely already know from Alexander's posse of asshats, this is my dad. Marcus meet Clair. Clair meet Marcus." Clair sat up straight and dusted the imaginary dirt off of her white and red striped skirt.
"It is very nice to meet you, sir. I've heard many great things from everyone but your son." I couldn't help but giggle and I could see Alexander trying to hold in a laugh. Marcus wasn't amused. He looked at me like I was a rat crawling out of a hole. I shrugged at him and then gave Clair the glare of the century. She shrugged and leaned back into her seat again. For a moment everything was silent. Everyone ignored each other. Alexander stared out of the window as usual, Clair pulled her notes and started to read over them and Marcus was on his phone. I just sat back quitely and watched everyone else. They all seemed so at home with each other. CLair seemed to fit right in. The limo came to a stop outside of the mansion. Everyone but Marcus stepped out.
"Boys!?" both Alexander and I turned around to look at Marcus. He was giving a very demanding look...mostly to me. "I have to go. The two of you and I mostly mean you Tyler, don't make any trouble. That girl better not be here for what I think she's here for." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"Dude, she's just a friend. I don't know how many times I have to tell you that I don't like girls. You don't pay attention." he scoffed and then waved at the driver to pull off. I sighed and turned to go inside. Alexander silently followed behind. Clair was standing at the door holding her books in front of her. I walked past her and kicked the door. The door immediately swung open and I was face-to-face with Fred. He gave me an annoyed look as always and then turned to his side to let us in.
"Please do reframe from kicking the door child. You'll get dirt on it." I gave an innocent look and walked past him.
"Sorry good sir, you know I was raised in the wild. Can't help it sometimes." he rolled his eyes and sighed. Then he saw Clair and frowned. The way he eyed her said it all. He was seeing every flaw and was trying his best to point them out. I grabbed her hand and pulled her along. She seemed just as amazed as I was the first time I saw this place. "My room is just upstairs. Let's go."
"Young master, I must advise you not to partake in any ungodly matters within the family home." I rolled my eyes and began to walk away, pulling Clair along with me. Once we were upstairs I showed her all of the painting that Alexander hung in the halls. She stopped in front of the same painting as I did my first day here and pointed at it.
"Do you have a sister!?" I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"N-no sorry, I don't have a sister. Alexander saw a picture of me and assumed I was a girl. He painted that and all of the other ones too. I looked at that one funny the first couple of days that I was here. I never noticed that I had such a girly face." she stared at it for a moment and then looked at me.
"Wow. You would have been such a cute girl, though I guess nothing would really change. You have such a girly figure. No muscles at all." that one hit me in the pride.
"You're so mean to me."
