Making fake friends

After a series of note taking, my classes flew by. By the time lunch came around I was so tired, that I just felt like giving up on life. I was ready to go home already. Alexander gave me directions to the library and then headed off to lunch with the group. I wanted to follow behind him, but I really wanted to become friends with Clair. I've never been friends with any girls. Mostly because they are too invasive and clingy. Guess that's why I could never date one either. Clair on the other hand was nothing like any girl i've been around. She doesn't give a fuck about what people think or say and she is her own person. I want to be her friend so badly that it hurts. I forgot most of the instructions on how to get to the library so I decided to wing it. If I found it then I found it and if not then i'll ask for help. I wandered around for about 5 minutes before realizing I was lost completely and utterly. I literally did not know anyone here so who am I supposed to ask for help. I turned around to go back where I'd come from and walked face-first into someone. I pulled away from them to apologize and was faced with those beautiful hazel eyes.

"Evan! I'm sorry. You came out of nowhere." he smiled at me before wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me in close. My body went stiff at the sudden movement, but he didn't seem to notice.

"You lost?" I just nodded my head. I know that he knew that I was uncomfortable with the way he was touching me, but he didn't seem to care. I pushed away from him and brushed his mere essence off of me. He gave a disappointed look as I walked past him and ventured down the long hall.

"I don't like to be touched like that." as I continued on I could hear him walking closely behind. It was creepy as hell and it kind of made me think of things from my past that i'd rather not. I quickened my pace, but I could hear that he'd done the same.

"You know if you're that in a hurry I could just lead you there. You said you were lost and I know you need my help, but you seem angry with me." I stopped abruptly and he didn't have enough time to do the same. He slammed into me, almost knocking me over. I made a quick recovery and swung around to face him.

"Look, you're really nice and super hot and all, but you are creepy as hell. The way you look at, the way you grab me and follow me around is creepy. I don't like it. I can't be around you if you're going to do things like that. And yes i'm completely lost. Please take me to the library." for a moment he just stood there and looked at me, then he chuckled and walked past me.

"Okay, I understand. Let's go. The library isn't far from here. You actually walked past it." I couldn't help but sigh in relief as he walked past me. I followed closely behind him, making sure to take note of everything around us. I don't want to get lost again, this school is way too big for that. Once we were at the library door, Evan patted me on the head and then told me he'd see me later. I didn't have time to waste at this point. I quickly opened the door and power walked inside looking for Clair. I spotted her across the room hidden between the shelves of the manga section. Thank you god for blessing this girl with red hair, otherwise I would never have found her so easily. I rushed over to her, but slowed down once I got close to make it seem like I wasn't relieved to see her.

"So...who helped you find the library? I know damn well you didn't come here by yourself." I scoffed at her as I slid down onto the floor next to her.

"And how would you know that?" she pointed behind her at a huge glass wall that shows the hall.

"I literally watched you walk past here six minutes ago. You were lost." wow, I am so lame. I couldn't help but burst out laughing. She chuckled to herself, straining herself not to laugh along.

"Oh my god. I was literally ready to cry when I couldn't find the fucking library. I ran into Evan. He told me that I walked right past it. I felt so dumb." I tried my best to whisper, but it was too funny. At this point we're both lying on the floor laughing at my stupidity.

Gosh, where supposed to be studying. You're such a bad influence." I rolled my eyes and snatched the manga out of her hands. The name was written in Japanese so I couldn't read it, but I could tell by the picture of a boy and a girl surrounded by roses that it was a shitty romance.

"Really now? You just happened to be catching up on your studies by reading this very romantic manga? What class is this for, huh?" she grabbed the book back and let out a really loud sigh.

"I study all of the time even on my lunch break and in my free time at home. I need a real break sometimes, so~ I come to the library to get away from it all and read a trashy romance manga or two." I scooted in next to her and sat shoulder-to-shoulder. I don't know what compelled to do so, but I reached up and patted her head.

"I meant what I said in class this morning. I won't be here long. We don't have to study while we're here. Let's laugh and read really shitty manga." she nodded in agreement and then leaned her head up against my shoulder.

"Yeah. That sounds good."
