I can't live with myself. I couldn't do anything, I was their guest and I ran. Chris, Sam, and Elyse are the only ones who I know now. I think I'm gonna end up failing them as well.

"We don't need them, Allan," Chris signs, "they never cared about us as much as they cared about each other."

"They still gave us a home after our parents died, Brother," Samantha acknowledged.

"They're not worth it, we're just chasing a ghost."

"Don't talk like that, Elyse."

"You know I'm right, Al. We're better off on our own, Ethan doesn't know shit."

"At least he tried."

"Well I'm sick of relying on him. Leah was right, he's not worth it. If you all are just going to be looking for him and his merry band of twats, I'm leaving."

"I guess this is goodbye then, El."

"I guess it is."

I've finally given in. I've decided to quit being an asshole and be the leader this sad group of bastards needs. The problem is, I don't really know where to start. Back at the apartment, building something out of nothing was easier. That was before I lost people that I cared about. It didn't feel the same anymore. Something was obviously missing.

For the first few nights we didn't have a roof over our heads. We scraped together anything we could and slept under the stars in the 120 °f, sweating our asses off and remembering the days we took air conditioners for garnet.

I knew no matter what I built for us, what we built together, it would never compare to what we had. Nothing could. Faces will always be missing from our family and there's nothing I could do to bring them back.
