First wind attack - preparing for the mist

The sun emerged over the jungle. Perros woke up, but was immediately struck by the cold from the sea.

"I-I should have e-expected t-that..." Perros said while shivering with cold because he had caught a chill overnight.

"Good morning to you, too." Koon was seated next to a fireplace.

"Mornin'." Perros went to warm himself by the fire.

When Perros sat down, he noticed that there was no wood beneath the fire.

"Ehm..." Perros looked at the fire in confusion and rubbed his eyes.

Koon looked at Perros' expression and immediately figured out. He raised his index finger and a small flame appeared slightly above it.

"You didn't tell me you were also a user of two." Perros said in a hurt tone.

"Did I have a reason to do so?" Koon said sharply.

"Well, yeah..." Perros said.

"I thought I was special." He added.

"Nope." Koon replied shortly.

"Every Star is a user of two elements." Koon added.

"But you said there are not many who have more than one element." Perros said.

"Yeah, but if I remember correctly, I also said "that I have seen". Do I look like I can travel?" Koon said.

"You got me there..." Perros admitted.

"So... how are you going to train me?" Perros asked after a while.

"For starters, I will teach you how to at least make ya power come forth according to ya willing." Koon explained.

"But that's where my help ends." He added.

"W-why?" Perros asked.

"When you learn something new, you have to practice. Practice makes perfect." Koon said and looked at the fog.

"I could push us through the mist right now." Koon said.

"But someone wants to be the strongest man as far as the eye can see." He added.

Perros smiled and faced the fog with determination.

"Let's do this!" Perros shouted.

--- In an unknown place ---

A mysterious figure was walking down a hallway towards its room, reading a newspaper, followed by its advisor.

"I didn't want to be bothered on my vacation, and in my absence THIS happens?!" The person fumed.

"What even happened there?" The person asked.

"Sir, he was outnumbered, but they were still defeated." Advisor answered.

"And on top of that, that IMBECILE allowed himself to be completely humiliated, making a mockery of MY name!" The person was still furious.

The room fell silent for a second, then the person exhaled.

"Where is that... What's his name?" The man asked.

"Perros, sir. Perros..." Advisor answered.

"Yeah, right..." The man said.

"And where is this PERROS now?" The man asked impatiently.

"He was last seen boarding a ship at Seaward, sir." Advisor said.

"Do you know WHERE he was sailing?" The man asked.

"Probably to Minami territory, sir." Advisor replied.

"Call me the best bounty hunter we have..." The man said seriously and stopped in front of the door.

"Don't you want to call more then one?" Guard#1 asked.

"Do you think I, Amaan Feuntes, am going to waste more money then I have to on such a small fry? Don't make me laugh." Amaan said and opened the door.

"Before he was just lucky, now he's dealing with ME, no amount of luck will help him this time..." He added before closing the door behind him.

The advisor turned his back to the door and pulled out his phone.

"Mr. Dunn? Yes, it is me, we have a job for you..." The advisor spoke into the phone.

--- Back to Perros and Koon ---

"I just can't!" Perros held out his arms in exhaustion.

"It hasn't even been ten minutes yet..." Koon fussed.

"How can you give up so soon?" He added.

Perros paused and turned to Koon.

"I'll never give up.... but for now... I will." Perros sat down into the sand.

"Like I told you before... Try to feel the power around you, since the wind surrounds you..." Koon said and glanced briefly around the area.

Perros closed his eyes, trying to concentrate. Koon was observing him carefully, waiting for any sign of movement around Perros.

For a while nothing happened. But suddenly small amount of sand moved away from Perros.

"See, I did something." Perros said triumphantly.

"Yeah, you did something..." Koon said irritably.

"And it smells..." He added.

"Sorry for trying then." Perros said hurtfully.

Koon sighed and began to explain again.

"Try to concentrate more. When you feel like you've got that feeling around you... try to transfer it to the end of your palm and let it go." Koon said.

"Until then... don't wake me..." He added, covering himself with the blanket.

"Alright..." Perros stretched.

"After all, I have all the time I want." He added.

"Not exactly..." Koon said.

"What do you mean by that?" Perros asked.

"There is a tournament happening in two months. And if you want to make a name out there... you have to participate." Koon said.

"And there's a big chance that Amaan sent someone to hunt ya gang down." He added.

"I understand everything before, but A- who?" Perros said.

"*sigh* Amaan Feuntes, the one you liberated his town from, remember?" Koon said.

"Ohh..." Perros nervously sounded.

"That man wastes his money on practically nothing but himself. But the sums he pay others to get revenge are ridiculous." Koon said.

"It is said, that the man who works directly for him never fails..." He added.

"Who exactly?" Perros asked.

"The Dunn brothers... Specifically Bill Dunn." Koon squinted his eyes.

"The abilities of the other brothers can be questioned, but Bill is something else." Koon explained.

"He was given the title of 'most feared bounty hunter' because he never lets his target walk out alive." He added.

"And does he..." Koon jumped in as Perros spoke.

"Use two elements? Bet your boots on it. He uses water and fire..." He added.

"And don't get me started on the tournament, there will be a lot of big shots." He added again.

"So that means more people to fight." Perros smiled.

"You can't "fight more people", if you don't have the power to do so." Koon said sleepily.

"So get into training." He added and closed his eyes.

Perros inhaled, exhaled, and tried to get a better hold on his first element, wind. Again and again he concentrated. It wasn't until evening that Perros made any progress.

"Alright... *huff* one more time..." Perros said exhaustedly.

Perros closed his eyes and tried to take in the windy nature around him. After a few more minutes of concentration, the wind slowly began to form from his boots. In a moment he was surrounded by it. It got to a point where his hat flew off and even Koon's blanket moved.

"Hey... ten more minutes, okay?" Koon was sleepily grabbing the blanket.

When Koon opened his eyes, he noticed that Perros was surrounded by a windy aura.

"See, you did it, kid." Koon gave him a cheer.

"You did it pretty quickly... surprising." He said for himself.

Perros didn't respond. Koon moved closer to him, but his wind aura grew a little stronger.

"Calm down, Perros!" Koon shouted.

Again, he didn't answer. Perros raised his hand and shot out a massive ball of wind energy.

"Woah..." Koon said in surprise.

Perros fell onto his knees, panting. Koon came next to him.

"You did well, kid." Koon praised Perros.

"I think, you'll manage to get us through." He added.

Perros looked at him and smiled.
