Interlude II

The mysterious man began to speak while the argonian information collector waited with bated breath. His body is leaning ever so forward...

"I was tasked with an investigation mission by....my organization. We received mixed reports regarding suspicious movements happening in Solsteim over the past week..."

"...Out-of-character activities, sleep-walking, weird dreams, and signs of fanaticism.....some sort of hypnosis or illusionism I suspect. Sounds fascinating no?" the top hot-wearing man had an intrigued tone while speaking.

The argonian's fingers began to twitch as THIS WAS IT!! This is why he loves his job, being the first to explore and report on such novel things...

Nodding happily towards the mysterious man, he asked hesitantly...

"So, now that you've hypothesized what's happening up there, are you going ashore to explore?..."

A chuckle escaped the masked man's lips as he tilted his head towards the lizard...

".....such a nosy little reptile hmm? Actually, I was just thinking..... I really need someone to go in that illusion's effective range as a test subject. I can't very well go myself before I know its specific effects, right?"

The lizard's eyes lit up as he answered...

"Ah yes, of course! Are you gonna call a fellow member from that organization of yours? Well, you wouldn't want an ally getting injured so probably no....by the way, what is the name of---"

The argonian stopped mid-sentence as something clicked in his mind. He turned slowly towards the masked man, now staring him down intently. The lizardman could sense that a smile was forming on the mysterious individual's lips...

"No..." the lizardman continued self-depreciatingly.

"...you would want someone you don't care about to go first and report back. Someone like me I'd suppose...." the more the argonian spoke, the quieter his voice became, and the lower his head drooped.

The mysterious man didn't speak, only watched the lizard come to terms with his new assignment, letting the silence stretch out...

Eventually, the argonian raised his head with a scrutinizing gaze, apparently finding his last hope...

"...so, umm...do I have a choice?" The explorer has experienced enough of Raven Oscars' worlds to know the answer, but he had to ask.

*chuckle*

"Well, sure!.....everyone has a choice. We all make choices knowing that they hold........ unpredictable consequences. The good thing about your situation is that you know exactly what will happen after choosing wrongly this time..."

The answer was playful but ice cold, the silence spreading between the two once again...

*sigh*

".....fine. How do I contact you when I determine the safety up there? and do I get anything for doing this? You know, other than my life?" the argonian acquiesced to being the test subject.

"Hahah, yes. I'm not an unreasonable man I assure you....I'll answer any three questions that your obviously curious mind can think up if you do this small task for me..."

.....(Scene Break).....

".....yo Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today!!!" an orange-haired boy yelled in excitement before inquiring as to the whereabouts of one particularly precious semi-aquatic mammal.

A little girl whose Father is about to leave his NL-Capsule after finishing work (streaming) for the day, is sitting on the couch watching the first episode of a new series released by a newly famous network.

They partnered with Raven Oscars and are bringing enjoyable age-appropriate works to those in the real world who are too young to enter his multiverse.

"YAAYY! I love cartoons!!!!..."
