6. Fear.

Hazel ran at the fastest speed possible. She didn't stop until she was at the bus station already. Only after she saw a seat empty, she took a seat and breathed heavily. It almost felt as if she was exhausted and her lungs were extremely empty. Others around her glanced at her and frowned before ignoring her presence. Even Hazel ignored the way others looked at her and pressed her forehead.

Just what the heck did she see just now?! A man present in front of her changed into a Werewolf. A WEREWOLF!!!

How could she still be calm and sober?! She should have started crying and sweating a long time ago. But there she was, drooling over his naked, sexy body. She grimaced and closed her eyes.

She would just go back home and rest for a while. Hopefully, she would forget everything about him by then. After this, she decided not to think about him and pulled out headphones. Then she entered the bus after paying the conductor and sat on an empty seat beside the window.

For the entire time she travelled, she didn't focus on a single thought about that man. Instead, she kept on reciting the songs in her head to keep herself busy. In any case, she wouldn't have to meet him again. Before she could think more about it, she reached her stop and got off the bus.

Just as she opened the front door of her house, she had a familiar voice yelling at her from the inside. "Just where do you think you went all this time?! Huh? Do you think I have all the time in the world for you?! You're simply a piece of crap who only wants to eat at home all the time without paying us back! What are you a queen?! Come back here and do the dishes!"

Hazel's feet stayed frozen at the door as the light in her eyes dulled after hearing those words. All the things she had faced outside, especially that wolf man, didn't seem to be so bad as this mother of hers. At least, the man did make her feel a hint of pleasure along with fear. But her stepmother only gave her extreme sadness.

If she were any sober, she would have scolded herself for thinking about her encounter with that wolf on such a good night. But at this time, emotions were spiralling in her heart. She didn't want to take anymore hurtful words inside ears.

Huh, now that she thought about it, she still couldn't tell why a human could turn into a wolf. Was there any secret magic trick involved in this entire scene that you didn't know about? She frowned at this. There was probably a camera around that was recording her reaction.

But how could that be fake?! She remembered seeing his entire body changing right in front of her eyes. The details couldn't be mistaken for something illusory or fake. It must have been a real deal!

Then how could he turn into a wolf?

Just as she was thinking about this, she heard her mother's angry voice again. "HAZEL! You look at me when I'm talking to you! What are you thinking about when I am scolding you for coming late?!"

Late? Hazel wanted to laugh at this. It was early evening. She was hardly late today. Her friends would often go out to a party and won't come back until early morning the next day. And she was late just because she came home half an hour later than she usually would.

Her mother had always been like this. No matter what she would do to please that woman, her mother would only ignore those good thanks and keep smiling at her until she cried. What kind of mother is that?! Who else yelled at their only children all the time 24 hours a day?

Of course, if it comes to yelling at children, it can be justified if the mothers do it for the sake of the children. But Hazel's mom only wanted to be selfish. For example, Hazel knew very well that her mom didn't want to tire herself out of working in the kitchen. So to save her from such a task, she wanted Hazel to do all the work at home.

Hazel sneered in her heart. Wasn't she doing her best already by earning money for these people?! What more do they want?!

When she thought of this, she couldn't maintain her calm anymore. Her heart felt like it was in a mess as she thought of how her mother scolded her for no reason.

If only she could live alone, how good would it be? In any case, her mother never showed any care for her. She still felt like she lived all alone at her own house filled with family members.

"What're you standing there for?!" Her mother's voice echoed in the background. "Come here and do the dishes. I have to go and play with my friends."

After that, the woman didn't stop any longer before stomping away from that place.

Hazel looked at her mother's back that disappeared into the corner in a daze. Then a bitter smile formed on her lips.

She forced herself not to think about anything that hurt her brain and heart. Then she started reciting the same song she had heard on her phone to keep herself busy.

By the time she laid on her bed after doing all the household work and eating food, she was dead tired. She had tried not to think about anything else while doing all that work, but now that she was free, her mind started wondering.

She closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep, but just as she closed her eyes, a familiar scene of a man changing into a was flashed in front of her eyes. She opened her eyes abruptly. Her breathing intensified as a trace of fear appeared in her eyes.
