Waking up, she felt as though her body had been beaten to pulp, she felt sore, each part of her body screamed in pain and her breathing was heavy. Her brows furrowed in pain as she tried to pry her eyes open but she failed as a splitting headache kicked in, she softly groaned in pain and resided to her fate falling back to sleep.
'What had happened to her?', all she remembered was that she saw a shadow flash before her and before she could take action against whatever it was, she felt the pain kick in. Had someone broke into her house? Who could be able to escape her 'good uncles' high skills aka 'assassins' her mother had put to monitor her.
Moreover where is she now, did they find her, realise somethi...shit, this headache!! She gave up on thinking on lost to the darkness that enveloped her.
Outside the patient VIP chambers.
"Doctor, how's she?" she heard a worried woman's voice, slightly high pitched outside her room when she woke up again.
"Mrs Anderson, your daughter was over worked and stressed....." the middle aged doctor was sweating unceremoniously though he tried to keep his twenty years of experience undegraded.
'Huhhh?' the young lady in the bed frowned at what the doctor said. 'Why's he tense?'
"Dr Drew, do you take me for a fool? Over worked you say?" The woman's voice was laced with mirth. "Then what about the bruises on her body, is that stress?" She raised an eyebrow at the doctor threateningly.
"Mrs Anderson, everybody reacts differently when stressed....!" Dr Drew tried to emphasise his point but the lady was not backing down or letting him finish what he had to say and tried not to make faces to show his emotions but he was failing silly. 'Mrs Anderson's emotional state is unstable!!' he thought.
"You literally have no idea what your saying, do you? Get lost now!" Mrs Anderson's voice boomed angrily and it sent shivers down the spines of Dr Dew and his subordinates who were drenched in their own sweat at this lady's outburst.
Not forgetting his manners, Dr Dew slightly bowed. "Am sorry Mrs Anderson!" He really meant it because the younger Anderson princess' condition was bizarre. She had bruises on her body that didn't disappear and seemed to be inflicted by...., he didn't know, the pain relieving shots they gave her were of no help at all. She had developed a high fever and was sweating heavily, each part of her body that was touched cause her to wince in pain and tear up in her unconscious state. Everytime Mrs Anderson saw this, they had to bare her outburst.
Someone barged into the hallway from the elevator panting. "Mom, what happened to my pie?!" young man of about thirty years asked worriedly. He was dressed in a black branded suit, his hair disheveled and worry easily seen in his hazel eyes. His steady steps resonated across the hallway and his arm and thigh muscles flexed with his every step and could be seen with the way his suit hugged his firm body.
Seeing her son, Mrs Anderson rushed to her son and hugged him. She finally found a bit of her strength and the pent up frustrations flew out of the window. "I don't know", she withdrew from his embrace and proceeded to enter the VIP room where her precious daughter lay, still unconscious. "the secret guards only told me that after she entered the house, they heard her scream so they rushed in only to find her unconscious on the floor. Her body was bruised!" A lone tear escaped Mrs Anderson's brown eyes.
"Probably someone was in the house and they frightened her?" The young man was frowning in displeasure, and what bruises? Who'd dare?! He'll hunt who ever did that!!
"No one was in the house, we've thoroughly checked all the cameras but nothing useful..except something that seemed like a shadow...it doesn't make sense at all. Its been two days now and she's still unconscious!!" Mrs Anderson whined like a child reporting her unfortunate days to her parent who has been away.
The young man hugged his mother and comforted her. Her husband, their father was away on a business trip and he wouldn't make it on time to see his sweetheart. Princess was the center of their family. "It's going to be fine mum, she'll be fine!" he assured.
Two hours later, she woke up, the princess in question and the pain had subsided. Tilting her head to the side, she groaned because her neck felt stiff and painful, she took in a deep breathe and looked at the familiar room, white in colour, a pink posh fluffy couch with her big pink teddy bear settled in it 'staring' at her.. Looking to the other side, she saw and IV drip connected to her hand and it was almost empty, next to it was the pink bed side table, that had a small corridle that led to the kitchen, dinning area , obviously, she was in her private room on her family hospital.....The Anderson's hospital.
Her father had spoiled her rotten to the brim but she didn't like it, not that she was ungrateful but her family had over done it. After taking over from his father a company idea he developed when he was only eight years old, her grandfather helped her father monitor and manage the company for his son till he was old enough to handle everything. Her father's empire comprised from the health, social, entertainment, security and educational aspects of life so that she didn't have to worry about obtaining anything she ever wanted or needed in life and here she was.....the Anderson princess. Eleanor Anderson!!!
Footsteps drew her from her thoughts lane and back to the people who seemed to freeze the moment they stepped in the room looking her way. 'Here goes everythin...' she murmured frustratedly.
"Waaaaaaaa", her mother wailed like a child. Her son had to hold himself back from covering his ears, he was utterly shamed, but nonetheless, Andy patted his mother's back to comfort her. "Momm, you can't cry like that, Eleanor is okay.....see, she's even up!" But the wailing didn't cease down, Andy failed to coax his mother. He couldn't help but frown, 'how did father manage such a cry baby!!!' he was vexed.
Drawing back into the covers to lessen the effects of the upcoming headache, Eleanor whimpered pitifully, "Mum..." Eleanor groaned, "My headache is worsening with your wail!!' she complained with a contoured face under the covers
In an instant, the cry died down and Mrs Anderson rushed to her baby's side, sniffing the aftermath of her emotional outburst, her face flushed, "Honey, how do you feel..Andy quick, being the water over." Turning to her baby, "You must be thirsty, what would you like to eat,mum will personally make it. Do you need a massage, or we could go to the spar once you get better then you can move back home?!...." Mrs Anderson rained her with questions, suggestions and decisions. Eleanor stared at her mother blankly and Andy had to shake his head unbelieving this was his mother.
Giving the glass to Eleanor, she took gulp after gulp to soother her wounded throat from the scream. Soon Eleanor handed the glass to her brother and slightly smiled. Feeling better? he mouthed his question and Eleanor nodded only to have her attention drawn back to her mother. "So you'll move back home! Right?"
"I'm starting to think you arranged this to have me move back to the ancestral home." Eleanor blurtered.
"What? I.....I , I am your mother how can you say that to my face. Am I too sly to plot something like that against my own daughter!!" This heartless daughter!!!
"Then stop insisting that I move back home mom. Am a woman now and I need independence."
"I...when did you, where's my baby?" Mrs Anderson was on the verge of tears. Her weak heart shuttered at her baby's cruel words that she was tongu tied.
Finally, Andy chipped in, "Mom, Princess just woke up and she's note in her right mind. We'll talk about this when she's better."
Eleanor "!!!!!!!"
"Yes, she's not in her right mind now, my baby has always been considerate, she wouldn't say such cruel..."
A kick at the door interrupted and in rushed a haggard man in his mid fifties but still looked vibrant and steady strong for most of the men his age. His suit was wrinkled with creases, probably he slept in it, his tie was crooked and displaced, his eye bags and a few blood vessels visibly and his hazel orbs displaying his self reproach for failing his family.
"Princess?" He softly called out but before he could take a step, Mrs Anderson threw herself in her husband's arms and wailed once again, "Honey, they hurt our baby, she...she even has bruises all over her body. Honey, they must pay...wwuuuuuuu."
"I understand I understand.....but honey I need to check on our baby. Please let me." He said as he patted her back lovingly but his eyes were on his daughter who rolled her eyes and her father had to conceal his grin. Andy chocked, these old.....issshhhh!!!!
"Mmmmm, go to her, she'll listen to you. Honey convence her to move back home mmmm."
"Yes, I'm gonna try to my best darling."
"I'll try to look into this matter better, pie, who ever did this must pay." Andy hugged and kissed her temple dotingly. "No need, you already have enough on your plate, don't mind this....." Eleanor tried to draw her brother out.
"Stop there lady, am doing this!"
"Why don't you go to sister in law instead, she misses you!" And that was enough to drive her brother away from this place. If he dared to go see his fiancée Jennifer, he wouldn't be able to go to work for a month or so....she was violently cute.
'Now her mother, how should she drive her away?!!'
Her father walked towards her in heavy but steady steps and when he was close, he carefully sat on the bed and glanced at her cute flashed face. "How are you feeling?!" He stroked her hair lovingly.
"Am fine dad."
"I know, my princess is strong."
"I'll go get us something to eat." said Mrs Anderson who had been left out and forgotten. This father- daughter pair were inseparable. Glancing at his wife as an approval,Richard drew his daughter closer into a hug.
"Am sorry I was late."
"No worries, your finally here!" she whispered back. "Dad?!"
"Hmmmm"
"Can you sleep by my side tonight?"
"You scared?"
"Very, dad."
"Wanna talk about it." He wanted to sound as casual as possible but the heaviness in his chest betrayed him causing his voice to slightly tremble. Feeling her father's uneasiness, she shook her head in a 'no'.
"Okay, you have anything you want to say to me?" His daughter was way too silent and it made him restless.
"Let's just stay like this.....don't leave if I fall asleep dad."
"You have my word."
