Chapter 36: The challenge
"Enchanting is one of those magic that requires no attribute, meaning that anyone can do it, writing runes requires a magical attribute and everyone would get different results due to people having unique attributes" She lectured "We will now learn how to make the robe in front of you fireproof, of course, there are limits to them"
-Dream Eater doesn't require enchanting and runes now does it?-
-No, Plotinum is the only metal that can't be enchanted and it also can't have runes, but it is stronger than weapons with both enchantment and runes- Dabria replied
She then let out her mana onto the robe, it was dark blue
-Imagine if they use their equipments, they'll be way stronger, I doubt any terrorist will want to attack the schools with these guys around- Diana said
-We got a festival in a like 2 weeks where we get a week break, if it's like any fantasy stories, that's when the Red sword will attack-
-Of course, we'll be prepared for it- Siege replied
Then a magic circle appeared in the professor's hand.
"Use your mana and your imagination, think of the enchantment you have on your mind an project it onto this robe"
Then her magic circle slowly disappeared and she lit a small fire to the robe and the robe didn't burn
"The stronger your enchantment the better it is against the element you're trying to protect yourself against, in the first semester exam, we will grade your enchantments onto the equipments that will be given out during that time and how many enchantment you can put onto the equipment, and don't worry, if you destroy your robe in the process, we have more, they are just cheap cloth anyway"
We then get started, we mostly didn't get it done, I got a robe for Diana too, she did it better than me, my robe lasted a couple second under my flames, her one last about 30 seconds
-So close- Diana said
-It's our first time after all, we take long just to apply it on the robe, we'll get it done in no time, besides I can just call Eliza later for some tips-
We then left for rune smithing class. Me and Albert parted ways there, he got a free period before his class of close combat.
We then entered the class, not a lot of people, only about 20 was there.
"Our last student, welcome Perseus, I am Professor Noah Blue" the professor greeted, he is an old man with a monocle, with a grey hair and a grey beard and mustache, brown eyes and about 177cm tall.
-What is it with these professors, why are all their last names named after colors? And their hair aren't even the same color-
-Author is losing his creativity- Dabria replied

"You will sit in the front, young man, your rune pen and your book is there for you to imprint" he pointed to the front seat that has this pen, a book and a small round shield on it
"Now that everyone is here, let's get officially started" he announced
"Rune smithing unlike enchanting requires a magical attribute, the only differences between them is that runes are better for offense and it has weaker defenses. Enchanting can allow a weapon to have better offensive qualities but runes are even better, if you have a fire attribute, you can inscribe runes on the sword to make it stronger in the fire department" He lectured "In the book is many different ways to inscribe a rune and many runes for other purposes, but my personal way is the easiest, you will use the pen to inscribe, and if you get better at it, you will no longer need a pen, just your fingers will do"
He then took his piece of shield and use mana to write something on it before the mana ink disappeared after a while
"This is what it will look like, the pen you use is just needed to write runes onto the equipment, runes will look different to everyone, so get going now, I'll be here if you have any questions, use the pen and inscribe runes onto the shield, it's up to your imagination for what you're going to inscribe, could be for support, defense or offense"
Most of us only managed write it out, but there was no effect on the shield.
We finally left for the beast taming class, Siege and Ace was waiting outside of the runesmith class and we headed there, our classroom was just a grass field with a board, many students were there sitting on the grass, but at least half the class didn't have any bond
-Maybe they're here to learn on how to get a bond-
-Well this class supposedly have the most field trips, it's for students to find their bond in the wild after all- Diana replied
-Well I don't want any more voices in my head, you guys are enough-
The professor was a women in her mid 20s, brown hair, green eyes and about 170cm tall.
-Really gives off motherly vibes-
-Keep those thoughts to yourself- Dabria grumbled
"Welcome Perseus, I'm professor Emma Steel, I'm glad you healed up nicely from the injuries my brother gave you" She greeted
-They're siblings?! They look nothing alike! One's nice and hot while the other is bulky and grumpy-
-Really, please keep those thoughts to yourself- Dabria said
"Today we will learn about the slave crest" She announced "So everyone please take a seat"
I then took a seat
The whole class was about the slave crest and how it is banned in several territories since slaves are banned in those, unlike bonds, the receiving end of the slave crest have to listen to every command of the master and depending on the grades of the crest, it would be almost impossible to break out of one unless the master is killed.

-I'm grateful for that, otherwise I would've killed myself rather than become someone's slave- Siege replied

Class was over and we were all having dinner. Eleanor and Albert Joined us later bringing Aenon and Balor with them.
We were having a a peaceful talk about our day and I was having my dessert before a certain guy interrupted us.
"Well well well, if it isn't the little cheater" A familiar voice mocked
It was this noble guy with dark green hair about 164cm tall, he was followed by 3 guys
"Do I know you?" I asked
-It's the 3rd year you beaten during the exam- Damon replied
-Ah him-
"Of course you forget about me, hot shot" he replied
"So what do you want?"
"Well I want to challenge you to a duel, I don't know how you cheated and win against me, but I have a reputation to keep, as a son of a marquis, being defeated by a disgusting being like you hurts my pride" he shrugged
"He probably bribed the judges" suck up number 1 added
"Yeah, probably got his parents to sleep with the teachers too" suck up number 2 whispered and the 3 suck ups laughed.
-These damn side characters-
-We shouldn't let them off easy, they mocked your parents- Siege growled
-Let's beat them up- Ace agreed

Damon also had an angry expression but he also used his amulet to record our conversation
"I refuse"
"What you scared?" he taunted
"Yes, so very scared"
He didn't like my answer, after all, if I don't accept, his reputation would still be damaged after being beaten by me in 2 moves
"I'm a noble! You should be glad that a person like me are even talking to you, tch"
"Back off! You may be a senior, but that doesn't mean you can abuse your authority to get everyone to do what you want" Eleanor replied annoyed
"Can't believe you get a girl to defend you" He taunted even more
Balor also looked annoyed from that statement, Albert and Aenon also looked like they weren't having it
"He probably used his vile ways to seduced her" suck up#1 mocked and the 4 laughed
Balor looked like he was about to lose his shit before I started to use 'Presence' but I didn't use it fully this time, just enough to scare the 4, Balor also looked intimidated by my aura
"See seniors, I'm enjoying my dessert, so can you please back off?"
The noble looked scared but he replied
"Remember my name, filthy peasant, Reynolds Franklin Noblesse, and remember that this will be the last time that I will show you mercy" he said as him and his goons left
-I can't remember a name that long-
"Man the chocolate pudding taste bad now that they're gone" I said
"Just ignore them young master, they will soon get the punishment they deserve" Aenon replied

"His bird is at the blue mana core?! Amazing" Anthony replied "Any records of his bodyguards?"
"No sire, nothing of sorts. But judging from their same last name, we can assume he and Perseus are close"
"His cat got a spatial attribute" Professor Williams said
"What?!"
"A good one too, inferior only to Perseus and Albert" He continued
"We should just keep tabs on all of his companions then" Anthony said "I heard young Reynolds is reacting negatively after his loss"
"Yes sir" professor white replied "I should've picked a better student representative, I didn't think he would react so negatively as a loss"
"None of us would think that the kid would get beaten up by a 12 year old either" Professor Steel said "We can get my sister to watch him, she helps patrol the dorms anyway"
"Well that will do, now let's discuss about the festival that is happen in a few weeks, pick some first years and let them participate in the fighting tournament" Anthony said

-The only thing we haven't help accomplish is to help get revenge for Ace-
-We'll help find the bear soon- Damon replied
-You guys wanna leave this Saturday, we got till the evening then-
-Yes, I could do with home cooked meals- Diana answered
-We should head to the workshop and meet with Eliza and update my family back home then-
-Sounds like a plan- Dabria replied
-It would be the first time, me and my sister will finally get to introduce ourselves- Damon said
-What if the noble pick a fight with us outside, the academy can't protect us then- Siege asked
