Chapter 306: I don't care

3rd person view

A group of scientists woke up from their slumber. There are a total of 7 scientists who looks to be in their 60s.

"Where...am I?" Scientist #1 asked "I was at work and now...here?"

They are still in their uniform, they dust off red dust from their coat and looked around. They recognized each other, they worked together years ago in the same unit.

"Why is our unit the one that's kidnapped?" Scientist #2 asked "There's definitely a reason for this."

"Yeah, a crime of passion" scientist #3 agreed

They were in this corridor where each wall was 3 or 4 ties taller than them, they knock on it and hear that's it's solid metal.

"Welcome to the labyrinth!" Perseus' voice announced "Head to the center where salvation lays within, hehehaha"

Despite the voice, they can't see him nor recognize that voice, they all tried to venture in further, and the voice is right, they are in some sort of maze, but what's weird about this whole thing, is the ominous presence of the maze itself.

After a long discussion, they decided to do the maze, but first they'll pick on one of the scientist's shirt and turn it into a long string.

3 scientists will be left behind in case something happen to the others and will hold one end of the string while the other 4 will venture into the maze as they hole the other end o the string.

But once they venture in far enough, they realize that they better regroup, but as they follow the string back, they found a dead end with the sting cut off.

"Fuck! The wall wasn't here before!" One cursed

"What do we do?" Scientist #1 asked "This maze's path is definitely going to constantly changing and shifting. We got no food, no water or any weapons to hunt even if there's anything to hunt"

They are not separated and there's nothing they can do. They tried to shout with all their might, the other group heard it but couldn't make out what they say no matter what.

Both the group then hear a scream of terror from far away followed by other screams.

"Well as you all have realized, the group you start with aren't the only one in the maze" Perseus laughed "Your salvation will be first come first serve, the rest will die to the gorgers I released in the maze or by hunger and dehydration."

"Why are you doing this to us?!" a scientist shouted but didn't think that Perseus would actually hear them

"Fun, I guess" Perseus laughed, "Well good luck, even with abilities, you won't break out of these walls, and I know none of you have a flying ability. So if I were you, I'd head for the center"

Perseus cracked a smile

The same judge that was in charged of the trail against the 5 members of Karen's squad woke up groggily in a chair. She isn't tied up or anything, but she definitely isn't home cooking lunch like she was supposed to.

She's in an empty courtroom with a white haired person who gives off an staring her down with a smirk on his face. His pose and everything about him, make him feel like some sort of king.

"You can try to run, but those doors are locked, so if I were you, I would cooperate since it'll be better for you that way" Perseus warned "This is the same court room, but unfortunately for you, you will not go scot free"

"Who the hell are you?! Release me at once, I'll have you kno-" The judge demanded but stopped once she saw his eyes glowed bright purple.

"Now, I don't care about the formal stuff, so I will definitely follow proper procedure" Perseus chuckled "Miss. Julia Caitlyn, you are charged for crimes against me, the sentence will either be slow and painful death or live as a patient in a mental ward"

The judge turn and tried to run for the door, but then she ran into something as something cut into her legs and then backed away. There are signs of slices across her face and her body. She then refocus her eyes and see that the court is filled with super sharp strings.

It dug so deep in her flesh since she ran fast, she then collapsed on the floor in pain.

"Who are you?" she asked

Perseus didn't answer but simply use illusion magic to turn himself into what he was as Grace Leven.

"Grey hair kid, you're Grace! I heard you died" she exclaimed

"Well turns out, gods are real and reincarnation is true" Perseus snickered "I vowed revenge against you and here I am for your life, Julia"

"Please, you were right!" she begged "To this day...I regretted letting them go. They are all worshippers, we all know now...but they're too powerful now. If I move against them, my family will die."

"Heh, my family died, and several other families died that day too." Perseus replied "Those worshippers probably killed a lot more people afterwards. If only you had delivered justice that day"

"I have children please spare me" she cried and begged ignoring her earlier pain "I'm sorry"

"They are both adult now, they can fend for themselves. But my siblings never got to live and raise a family of their own. You let their killers go away, if you think I'm the type of guy to forgive, then you're severely mistaken"

"But it was almost 2 decades ago!"

"Look at me, do I look like I fucking care?! You seriously think that after all this time, I killed people, separate them from their families, worked hard just to get here, so that I can forgive you? No no no, I worked too hard, now choose Julia, live as an insane person who will never recover...or death, I'll be merciful enough to let you choose"
