When ordinary dates become extraordinary

"Hey, sunshine, how have you been sleeping?" Josh opened his arms and hugged Johanna widely. "Wonderful!" she lied and smiled the widest smile she was capable of. "I slept pretty fine myself too!" he chirped joyfully, then kissed her smitten.

"It's pretty hot outside today!" she said. "I see. You dressed for the summer!" She wore a short jeans skirt, a pink T-shirt and some platform sandals. "You have very beautiful kegs!" he observed. "Thanks" she replied smiling. "What do you want to do today?" "Let's go to the movies." he said. "How about the new Ice Age movie?" she proposed. "Sounds like a good deal!" he said.

After buying the tickets they saw they were a few minutes too early and decided to wait in the waiting area next to the counter people could buy tickets from. There were a few couches and some big plants. Two couches were red, while the others were black. They chose the black one to sit down on it and engaged in kissing and making out. His breath was warm and had something addicting to it she could not pinpoint, just like the taste of his mouth and tongue that sent chills on her spine and throughout her body.

A group of kids passed by and laughed at them. "Haha, want to stick your tongue deeper into her throat?!"One of them yelled in their direction. Josh sighed and by the look on his face, which frowned was pretty annoyed by the commentaries of the passing kids. "Meh, what do they know?! Ignore them. Maybe if he was at least half as good-looking and attentive as you are he would have had a girlfriend too!" Johanna observed and patted him on the back of his head assumingly.

"Idiots will be idiots," he muttered sadly and rested his head on her shoulder. "It's ok. We have each other and we're young," she said. She enjoyed the closeness to him and basked in the silence for a few minutes, as they waited for the time the movie would start and they would go into the cinema. "Look, mama, look. That's the way you and dad should hug each other. Sit like two people who love each other, just like these two people do!" Johanna noticed a little boy putting his father's arm around his mother's back, just like Josh was holding her, and couldn't help but smile.

"Thanks for not giving up on me even when I was close to giving up on myself." He whispered in her direction softly and gazed into her green eyes, as she sat in his lap looking into his. "You're welcome! I guess that's what you do when you love and care about somebody!" she quietly answered as her voice almost cracked. "Maybe one day you'll move to Canada and my life is going to be better!" he said. She replied: "Yeah, maybe one day!" while gazing into the distance, too afraid of the uncertainty of tomorrow and trying her best to live the present moment. "But first you need to finish college!" he added with a serious tone.

The movie was funny and matched up to her expectations. They also made out a lot and his kisses tasted like salt and popcorn, but that wasn't an issue since she also loved popcorn. Something else she loved about the cinema was the air conditioner, which felt like a much-awaited breath of air.

Hand in hand they walked out of the cinema. "I found it pretty entertaining. Poor Scrat! Always racing after the nut and never getting it!" Johanna laughed. "Isn't that just how life goes? Our human nature pushes us to always want what we can't have!"

'Want to join me and have a Frappuccino too or anything else you want at Starbucks?" "Yeah, sure!" she replied, as they headed hand in hand to Starbucks. " "Baby, baby, baby, ooh/Like baby, baby, baby, noo/ Like baby, baby, baby ooh Thought you'd always be mine, mine!" Josh sung cheerfully and loudly and even turned some heads. "Did not know you're Romania's voice and a Justin Bibber fan!" Johanna teased him and couldn't help, but laugh. "Well, I did not know either! You know me, I listen to metal! But with you by my side, even music that I don't usually like sounds good!"

They arrived at Starbucks and Johanna found a table where she sat and waited for him to bring the Frappuccinos. "There you go, hon. A strawberry Frappuccino for you and a chocolate Frappuccino for me. Johanna took a few sips and observed there were few customers today. She put the drink on the table, brushed her finger against its wooden texture, and soaked into the softness of the grey couch she was sitting on. She locked eyes with him and got herself lost in them reveling in every single drop of gorgeous dark ocean blue hiding secrets. "You remembered to ask for sprinkles and whipped cream, just how I like my Frappuccino!" Of course! Why not?" Johanna smiled mysteriously and took more sips. "

"You're so beautiful! I love that smile!" he said and gazed longingly at her. She held his look and reached her hand in the direction of his across the table. "I don't know if I can stay much longer. My parents are upset about the failed exam I have to retake in the fall. I have to study for it and this time around I need to pass it." "Can't you just stay a little bit longer?" he asked with big puppy eyes. "Ok, I'll do my best!" she answered. He stroked her hair and she cuddled into his arms and kissed him. "You're so cuddly! You remind me of a cat!" he grinned and she replied: " Meow! Purr!" as she moved into his lap and subtly rubbed herself against him. "Apparently someone else is very excited to see and feel me!" she grinned wickedly and kissed him with her tongue passionately as she held his face between her palms and enjoyed every fiber of closeness between them.

She then lowered her palms and touched his upper body gently, then stroked his hair slowly. His skin was soft as a baby's. She got closer to his throat and kissed him on it close to his ear. Then she whispered: "Too bad I have to go. Would have loved to my way with your body." She stood up and he grabbed her hand: "No, wait! I need to give you something!" She slightly smiled: "Okay, what do you want to give me?"

He kept searching in his bag and found what he was looking for: "I found the bloody little red box I could not find earlier. Here you go, this is the charms bracelet I bought you. It keeps bad spirits away and as a bonus no matter how far apart we are from each other or whatever circumstance life may throw at us and keep us apart, just know that a piece of me is always going to be with you and protect you." He told her as he gently put the bracelet on her small hand, after carefully taking it out of the box.

"Thanks," Johanna smiled, hugged him tightly, and kissed him. "I'll take care of it and will always think of you when wearing it. But now I really do have to go even if I don't want to." he hugged her tightly one last time, as she headed towards the exit of the mall. Then she took out her headphones and listened to some romantic music as she walked past people smiling like a fool lost in her own thoughts and love story and enjoying the high she was on as the sun was setting and the warm summer breeze delicately blew her hair. But every high has its own low. The question is: how long can a high last before a low comes and are you able to overcome it, once it arrives?
