"Chapter 34- Bookworm"

Another day of work... I turned around multiple times while sitting on an office chair as Abigail looked at me and blinks every 10 seconds. "perhaps you seem bored sir," she whispered as she walked closer to me while taking out her phone in her pocket, I nodded as a response and began to turn around one more time because of boredom. "I have something to kill time," she said while swiping on her phone, she showed me a website where there are tons of books to read for free. "you might have to open your inner bookworm for it though," she said while pressing the website's library. "behold! my library!" she flexed tons of books stuck in her library, she soon stop to that one LGBTQ love story at the end of her library.

"Read this, totally recommend!" she said while showing a thumbs up in front of me.

"The sales are increasing very high in just a small amount of time, many liked our newly designed sofas because of the newly-made fabric and leather we used to it!" she said while showing our sales chart, she looked happy while presenting me the sales. However, Leather and fabric sales drastically increased during this year... I wonder why...

I rubbed my chin while estimating our company budget, Abigail closed the presentation and looked at me with her head tilted a bit on her right side. "What's the matter, sir? aren't you glad our sales increased?" she asked me as I continue to ponder in my thoughts while rubbing my chin, "Sir?" she called me again.

"Yes?" I slowly respond, she looked at me concerned. "what are you thinking?" she asked while placing a printed version of the chart on my piled-up desk, "nothing, calculating things we have to use, and I was planning to raise out products' prices," I suggested while organizing the files on my desks to previous to latest. "that could be a good plan actually, the prices of the materials we use are getting higher this year," she said while helping me, "besides... the business might go bankrupt if we don't raise our prices," she added and it makes me feel so anxious deep inside.

She looked at me and noticed I felt all anxious, she bit her lips and regretted it. "when will there be a company dinner?" she changed the subject while shredding the useless papers on my desk, I looked at her with my brows knotted, she looked at me and blinked. "do you have any plans to get to know your employers?" she asked while continuing to shred the other papers, I rested my forehead on the edge of the desk.

I forgot about that... the only employee I'm close with is my secretary! I should've thought about it as soon as I came here!

Abigail patted my shoulder, "do not fear!" she shouted poetically while resting her arm on the other side of my shoulder and continuing to pat it, "I will help you," she added with a very confident tone, I looked at her who is beside me. "really?" I asked while doubting if she could actually help me, "don't doubt my service! I worked here for a long time!" she laughed like Gaston in beauty and the beast.

will it really be alright?... I doubted my decisions.

"What's the news? Angelo?" Tristan asked while facing the large window that is facing towards the mansion's backyard, Angelo stepped in with a thick folder in his hand. "your stepfather... has been murdered by... Madame sol, but one of his trusted servants was framed for this," he said with a somber tone without raising his head in front of Tristan, he turned around seeing Angelo facing his head down. "Thank you for informing me, Angelo," he thanked and dismissed his secretary away.

"what am I gonna do with you... mother..." he said to himself while facing the window back as the rain kept pouring outside with a bit of rumble in the clouds. He turned around seeing Rheanne sitting on his chair while going round and round quietly, she looked at him expressionless after she eavesdropped on their conversation earlier. "Is father... really dead?" she asked while her lips tremble not knowing what expression should she make about the news, Tristan nodded as a response and slowly widens his arms for an embrace. "I'm sorry if you have to hear that," he apologized as Rheanne went in for his embrace.
